This deck was built in response to my Elf deck Prepare Yours-Elves. I had grown tired of seeing that big, brutal, unsubtle Elf deck casually destroy all my other carefully-designed, clever and fun decks. And so this red goblin deck was born: big, brutal and unsubtle, this time led by Krenko, Mob Boss.

Seeing these two decks going after one another is quite a clash of big, brutal and unsubtle titans. One key difference between the two, however, is how important Krenko is as a commander. Without him, the entire swarm aspect fails. The Elf deck, on the other hand, can easily thrive without its commander.

That is why efforts were made to keep Krenko safe (Goblin Chirurgeon, Mogg Raider, etc.) and give him haste to ensure he'll have at least enough time to produce one litter of pawns (Akki Drillmaster, Hellraiser Goblin, Goblin Warchief, etc.). There are also techniques to untap him and use his ability more than once a turn (Puppet Strings, Thousand-Year Elixir, Umbral Mantle).
