Voracious Dragon Discussion

pinecone2k3 on Ramen's Goblin Horde

I'm going to elaborate on the Mogg War Marshal recommendation. Ignore the Echo cost on it. Think of it as a 2cmc spell that gives you two 1/1 bodies. It has two major differences, from Dragon Fodder and Krenko's Command. First, one of the 1/1 bodies replaces itself when it dies. So, if you were to, for example, sac MWM to a Goblin Grenade or Voracious Dragon, the number of creatures you have on the battlefield wouldn't change, allowing for Krenko, Mob Boss's ability to have that much more punch. Second, unlike Fodder and Command, MWM can be tutored into play with Warren Instigator. The extra creature entering the battlefield will also serve as an extra trigger for Foundry Street Denizen and Quest for the Goblin Lord. Bare minimum, I suggest swapping out Krenko's Command for Mogg War Marshal.

Replace Akki-Coalslingers for Bloodmark Mentor? :D

Also consider Voracious Dragon over Chancellor of the Forge?

Those are my suggestions!

You don't want Predator Dragon or Voracious Dragon unless you go a bit heavier on goblins I would cut them and add more Servant's and Birds; plus one more Scourge of Valkas. With green you could also include Savage Ventmaw in their place for the mana.

Assuming you want to keep this deck Rakdos your first auto include is Dragonlord's Servant just to make the dragons cheaper; in the vein you may also want to include Urza's Incubator. The dragons you are running are largely okay but I would suggest Scourge of Valkas, Bogardan Hellkite, Deathbringer Regent, and possibly replacing the non-dragon creatures with other goblins to play Predator Dragon and Voracious Dragon. The goblin support would give you more presence in the early game and allow the dragons to be much more impactful.

As for your removal I would play Terminate over Dreadbore and then if you can afford it Fatal Push is probably the best removal out there, if not Victim of Night is a solid alternative.

I would also drop all the other instant and sorceries you have in the deck, Torment of Hailfire is a punisher card which I find to always be just bad, and the rest aren't necessary as dragons have evasion. Instead I would up the goblin support and most importantly add discard effects, Inquisition of Kozilek and if you can afford it Thoughtseize (That card is crazy expensive I know) will help you slow down your opponent while you accumulate a board presence, and it will also rob them of some potentially vital cards.

You should also consider running Crux of Fate at least in the sideboard as a board wipe which will not really harm you.

Let me know which way you want to go and I am happy to continue to help you refine the deck, it has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Rev_Lycan60 on Krenko, many goblins.... too many goblins

It's not necessary but I like to throw in Voracious Dragon as a final push and sometimes it surprises my opponents.

I do the same with non-EDH decks with goblins. I run 2-3 in the main or side deck.

So first off add a mana base, it is the single most important piece of any deck; second move the deck to modern; goblins are better suited in the modern meta. If you are playing Goblins then a lot of the creatures you have are not necessary; generally you want the following goblins:

The rest is really up to you. Warren Instigator is great if you have goblins to cheat out. Goblin Chieftain should be your lord of choice. You may want to include Burning-Tree Emissary to chain a bunch of goblins in one turn and then buff them with Reckless Bushwhacker. Other options are to use snow lands and add Skred; Voracious Dragon is generally just a win-con, same goes for Predator Dragon, and from there you either round out the deck with other support goblins or even burn cards that can serve as removal and extra damage. Generally this deck is either or but I like the idea of for some of the better burn spells like Lightning Helix and Boros Charm.

I play a krenko deck myself and love it! Hate that Worldfire is banned haha but there are so many win cons here it's rediculous. I noticed you don't have a Voracious Dragon, which is honestly a great dragon to play in these infinite goblin decks. Burn at the Stake has saved me more than a few times late game as well. Thousand-Year Elixir is great so you aren't waiting that extra turn to use Krenko and running a Goblin King pairs well with Blood Moon
