Voracious Dragon Discussion

Kyle_Winter on Mono Goblin Deck for Commander

First attempt at a deck or not, I'd say this is pretty solid! You have a good balance of cards as well as a decent mana base for the cost to play those cards.

Have you considered Empty the Warrens to add more goblins? It's a bit on the expensive side, but it adds more goblins..

What about Predator Dragon, Preyseizer Dragon, and Thunder-Thrash Elder? These guys are all like Voracious Dragon. Predator Dragon is especially cool considering it has haste! You could turn all your 1/1 goblins in to some real damage!

Finally, what about Fury of the Horde for an extra round of damage?

If you're interested, I recently made a Torbran, Thane of Red Fell deck called Torbran, Thane of Burns. It is also mono-red and it deals with multiplying the damage individual cards deal. Check it out! It may help you come up with more ideas as well.

I like the idea of the deck. Since there are a lot of goblins, if you added some more token making cards, probably Voracious Dragon could act as a finisher. Or a secondary one at least.

I'm all about this.

You might include Ghoulcaller Gisa, who is the most effective zombie engine I've ever encountered. Furthermore, imho, Migration Path is better than Explosive Vegetation. Additionally, you may have enough Goblin engines to include Voracious Dragon.

A solid maybe for Dark Triumph as well, and I'd seriously consider Culling the Weak. And finally, Life's Legacy.

Ok, that's all. Foldering this one for inspiration. Thank you!

2 enchantments that compliment the commander/deck: Goblin Bombardment Impact Tremors

Also check out Clickslither, Voracious Dragon and Burn at the Stake for potential 1-shotting someone. Winter Orb and Fires of Invention is a busted combo too.

Some stuff that I use in my Krenko deck that may be of use here:

Hellrider can kill opponents without needing the gobbos to even connect.

Voracious Dragon ETB trigger can kill one opponent then potentially swing and kill another if you have a way to give it haste. Getting to 20 tokens isn't that hard.

Arms Dealer sac tokens to remove obstacles. 2 goblin tokens and 4 mana will remove just about anything.

Art-n-Lutherie, so I used to run Voracious Dragon in an earlier built, however, I didn't get much of chance to play it, since I usually just won through combos most of the time. It's a good card and it's still in my deck box as a sideboard option if I feel like I want to play it though.

Have you considered Voracious Dragon as a "FINISH HIM/HER" piece? I used to have a Krenko deck that I ran that in. You could finish someone off with combat damage from your sea of tokens and then devour them all to deal double that damage to someone else.
