This casual mono-red token Goblin tribal aggro Commander deck is built for fun social games, and is very far from being tuned for maximum competitiveness. Design principles followed include:

  • Every creature either is a Goblin, creates Goblins, cares about Goblins, or pumps Goblins;
  • No non-land card costs more than US$10;
  • When in doubt, avoid "unfun" and non-interactive mechanics and cards in favor of "fair" approaches to winning;
  • When in doubt, favor cards and mechanics that are "Gobliny" in theme over those that are not (e.g. flavor text that mentions Goblins, mechanics that involve suicide attacks or sacrifices, etc, are preferred over random burn spells).

Strategy? Vomit goblins, turn them sideways, sac them for bonus effects, laugh, and repeat, until you drown your foes in torn goblin flesh and synergy.

Yes, this deck wants Purphoros. Yes, this deck wants insurrection. It's also begging for a sword and a gauntlet or two. If you want a more competitive EDH deck, throw those in and this pile's closing power will go way up. But if you're mostly looking for some cards that you can entertainingly suicide into your friends while you drink beers, talk, laugh, and hang out, then these 100 cards are assembled just for you.

In addition to Krenko, Mob Boss, other creatures in this deck that can step up as alternate commanders are Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker.
