I have tested creatures/cards like that in the past and don't like the staying power or what they are adding to this deck. The creature versions get board-wiped the fastest and don't tend to extend the deck past extra mana available, so I prefer to start getting bigger game impact dragons out and only ramp via land ramp and some artifacts. Mainly to help with my mana fixing, draw, and one sided board-wipes. See the list of cards that those would not interact with other than Scaled Nurturer, that one gets the dragon pass but not card draw and would take up one of the 30 dragon slots. Garruk's Uprising, Elemental Bond, Frontier Siege, Wrathful Red Dragon, Silumgar, the Drifting Death, Rith, Liberated Primeval, Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury, Ganax, Astral Hunter, Firkraag, Cunning Instigator, Dromoka, the Eternal, Bladewing the Risen, Atarka, World Render, Haven of the Spirit Dragon, Relic of Legends, Jade Orb of Dragonkind, Carnelian Orb of Dragonkind, Crux of Fate, The Ur-Dragon

So 20 cards or 1/5th of the deck that those would not extend or interact with. Here is a link for some statistics for mana reducers that basically says if you can play cards every turn and use all mana you have as well then they work the best in those types of decks.

Is it worth it to play cost reducers in MTG EDH commander? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prltKyeJMKI

Form about this topic https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/b3stji/cost_reducers_vs_ramp/

Thanks for the comments! Hope this gives some insight on my deck building/playing style and if you run those mana dorks/cost reducers, I think cards like can help and, I do run them in other decks with less colors or better card draw. I do think a commander like Tiamat would benefit from those to help play the tutored cards after cast and help commander tax to recast it and refill your hand. The main thing I consider is what am I swapping, and in this deck and it's mana fixing for a 5 color deck on a 50$ budget, or a potential dragon slot for a deck that wants dragons on the field attacking to start getting ramped up.

I will continue to update this deck and work to give better descriptions of my other decks as well as I build and update my commander arsenal!

Cool List Scaled Nurturer Would go good in here.

Forgot to say what to take out for the three cards above: Green Sun's Twilight, Hull Breach, Lukka, Bound to Ruin. The Twilight is unrealiable until you spend a lot of mana into it. The Breach is sorcery-speed. The planeswalker does not do much here.

Now some small upgrades you can make:

Neat deck idea!

Not sure how fast the decks you play againset are, but have you considered some lower to the ground dragons? These seemed somewhat interesting, most have colourless in their cost, for the potential discount. Bhaal's Invoker has 4 power, Silvanus's Invoker could be a maybe, Reckless Barbarian seems interesting, Dragon Egg deters people from wiping the board/attacking with bigger non-flyers, Scaled Nurturer is ramp and life, Korlessa, Scale Singer seems interesting, Chaos Dragon is effectively a 2/4 Haste Flying for 3 (it can't swing half the time, but it can still block), and while it's pricey Shivan Devastator can come down early or late.

Hey, on a budget really well done for your first Dragon tribal deck. On low budget you have good card sense and deck building skills.

There's many excellent Dragons here, but some stand out as subpar, not needed.

Scaled Nurturer is lackluster ramp because only green mana and the mana can only be used to cast a Dragon. Can do much better for two drop ramp. Fierce Empath is another budget creature tutor to get a Dragon.

There's one area of deck building that you've left out, recursion and green is the best color for it because it's recursion of any card such as Eternal Witness. In multiplayer Commander your stuff is going to be destroyed a lot having some card recursion can help to get back certain cards that are important to gameplay such as Temur Ascendancy. Witness and Empath can be blinked to be repeatable.

Sarkhan the Masterless is less impactful here for five mana then if you're playing more Planeswalkers or a Commander Planeswalker. Bower Passage can help Dragons to wreck your opponents. For two mana it makes them essentially unblockable. It can stop annoying little Spirits from being blockers against Dragons.

Court of Bounty can be repeatable draw with the monarch and then repeatable cheat Dragon or cheat land from your hand. Dragons don't really need +3/+3 from Crucible of Fire for four mana since they're already high power/toughness and flying makes them good attackers.

12x basic Mountains is a lot compared to the other numbers of basic lands. Replacing some basic Mountains with more dual lands could improve color fixing from lands to help gameplay. Yavimaya Coast, Shivan Reef, Karplusan Forest Pain lands have just been reprinted in newest set Dominaria United, get them while they're $2 or less each.

Good luck with your deck.

Nice list and really helpful if you start with a new color combination for the first time.

Some green cards to edit:

Shard Convergence

Sprouting Vines

Kura, the Boundless Sky

Scaled Nurturer

Some Artifacts:

Cursed Mirror

Patriar's Seal

For some reasons, i like the 5 alara borderposts: Fieldmist Borderpost, Wildfield Borderpost, Mistvein Borderpost, Veinfire Borderpost and Firewild Borderpost.

You also missed the 10 Cluestones (Dimir Cluestone...) as well as the 10 Lockets (Azorius Locket...).

Maybe you have to sort the artifacts a bit more (1 color, 2 colors, etc.)

@Housegheist

Scaled Nurturer is great, though I'm trying to stay away from creature ramp a bit because the deck gets a lot of board wipes against it and the artifacts are doing a great job. That said, if anything, I might consider replacing Caged Sun for it, which I may very likely do! Thanks.

Earthquake Dragon is already in the deck. =)

Rishkar's Expertise is great, but I'm not sure I can really take advantage of it. The pure card draw is awesome, but the expense of man is high. This is generally made up for in the fact you can drop a 5 CMC creature for free, but I only really have 8 viable targets for that, so it's not as likely that I'll have a 4-5 CMC in hand. I've been torn on adding it to the list.

Garruk's Uprising was in the deck originally but replaced with Elemental Bond. EB works a little better if I have something like Caged Sun out for +1/+1, as then I can get extra card draw when playing smaller creatures like Draconic Disciple, and I generally prefer to diversify non-essential spells, so at the moment I don't want to duplicate that kind of a card draw effect. That said, if I end up removing Caged Sun, then I may swap back to Garruk's Uprising since the cantrip on casting is nice, as is the Trample. Hmmm, yeah, really thinking about dropping Caged Sun now, lol. It's hard to do though, it's a huge mana advantage that I can get out on turn 3 or 4 sometimes, and I really, really need that mana. Ugh.

Same goes for Return of the Wildspeaker versus Hunter's Prowess, which basically does all of what RotW does that only let's you do one of for the same price.

Thanks for the great suggestions, I'll be mulling them over for a bit.

Cool list!

Have you considered Scaled Nurturer as 2cmc on theme ramp piece? Earthquake Dragon seems to be the new green “going too guy” in dragon tribal.

How about Rishkar's Expertise or Return of the Wildspeaker? I like the versatility of both. And Garruk's Uprising could do an awesome job in this list, too.

A tried a dragon deck by myself for the first time (Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm) and tried to stick as far on theme as i could. Maybe you take a look and share some thoughts :) would you mind, if i link it?
