I want to see provoke on some new cards.

Also a second set of Pact cards would be great. Preferably for cards like Disenchant , Command the Storm , Zombify , Defend the Hearth and Relearn . (Pact after costs may need to be adjusted of course.)

Boza on War of the Spark: Spoilers …

Niv died. We even got a card inderectly depicting Bolas killing Niv:

Command the Storm

But other than that, Niv died/disappeared in GRN, we now see what has happened. But a smart dragon always prepares, as Nicol himself would testify.

If you have the chance there are some cards that would fit great. Pteramander and Crackling Drake are great creatures in your deck. You probably also want to add some faster burn spells like Shock or Wizard's Lightning . Lava Coil is also feels a bit better than Command the Storm although it is sorcery speed.

Phaetion on IDW Chandra #1 Speculation

Warning! Long post ahead!

This thread bothers me more than it should because it's been on my mind a lot. I'll break this down with my thoughts, after spending some time thinking it over:

  1. Bolas: That part could be referring to Amonkhet (See Hour of Devastation and, of relevance, Chandra's Defeat ).

  2. The Guildpact: This part, I think, is spoiler-worthy. This is probably the most plausible outcome in War of the Spark.

  3. Worlds Ending: Again, this could be referring to events outside Ravnica. Amonkhet comes to mind again but also Zendikar (The second rodeo, when Ulamog and Kozilek were running around). The situation there was dire too.

Also, there are some things to consider: If Bolas wins, then the last two sets/blocks were pointless. Recall that Jace covered up Vraska's true memories of their time on Ixalan. He'll unlock those, I imagine, at a crucial time and turn the tide against Bolas. Bolas does not know that Vraska ran into Jace there. Also, what was the point of Gideon finding and wielding the Blackblade if it's futile against Bolas? There's also the Liliana factor, and she'll have a role to play here. She'll probably backstab Bolas at a crucial moment once she finds a way. Black mages are known schemers, after all. Also, think of all the character development that occurs after Amonkhet. Would that all be for nothing too?

Also, each of the Bolas-aligned guildleaders may turn against him once reality sets:

Kaya: I imagine she'll be first. Everyone who's read her debut article will know why: She's got morals, and when she realizes what she helped happen, she'll work to stop it.

Domri: As much as the Gruul want Ravnica to burn, they won't be pleased with the idea that the Raze-Boar was a giant dragon instead, let alone be lied and manipulated.

Vraska: This needs no info.

Ral: Difficult to factor in, until you read a few cards where he shows up: He suspects that he's being played, and he certainly won't be pleased when he finds that out. See Command the Storm .

Dovin: The only one who won't defect, and I imagine he might kick the bucket here. He's too closely tied to Bolas to defect, and will probably be brought down by Lavinia and the other Azorius members who are against him.

Those are my two cents, and to answer your question: Yes, it could very well be canon, but it's a question of placing events and places into perspective.

Nostalgiamatt on Mizzix, budget first build

I have made some changes to the deck, as I have been able to get hold of a few more cards I wanted:

Removed: Chemister's Insight, Command the Storm, Electrickery, Electrolyze, Izzet Charm, Lightning Strike, Ral's Dispersal, Stonefury Beacon Bolt, Divination, Invoke the Firemind, Precision Bolt, Roast, Windfall Nevinyrral's Disk Firemind's Research

Added: Mystical Tutor, Reiterate, Turnabout, Clockspinning, Shattering Pulse, Capsize, Gamble, Preordain, Vandalblast, Merchant Scroll, Mystic Retrieval, Past in Flames, High Tide, Hidden Strings, Misdirection, Young Pyromancer

This should give me a little more control, and has added some much needed combos in. Still not where I want to be with the deck overall yet, but all I could afford to put in for now. Will make some more changes after Christmas is out of the way, and once I have played with it a bit more to see what exactly needs doing.

The cmc curve of this deck is always going to be quite high, I would recommend adding in some essential ramp spells and ways to cheat in your creatures. I'm assuming that the cards you will consider will be more on the budget side so here might be some cards you can consider. Selvala's Stampede, good way to be threat and able to cheat permanents from hand or flip into big dragons from the deck. Sunbird's Invocation, since you are reducing the spells of your dragon, the 'cascade' trigger will be large and unlikely you will whiff most of the time. Cream of the Crop a pseudo filtering where it synergizes with your big drops so you can fix your draws. Summoning Trap only would use if you face against a lot of counterspell decks. Nature's Lore, Farseek, Rampant Growth, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Hour of Promise, and Skyshroud Claim are great ramp spells that are better in the long run. If not all the signets and talismans for mana rocks to accelerate.

I would recommend cutting all the equipments as you don't need that when your dropping big threats already, Door to Nothingness, Doubling Cube, Lich's Mirror, Descent of the Dragons, Traitorous Blood, Gift of Paradise, Prodigious Growth, Command the Storm, Tail Slash, and Holy Day.

Hope that helps! If your not on budget there are other alternative options but the cards are $10+

You should add Silver Wyvern just because it's a good blue drake, Lava Axe and Command the Storm for damage, and Goblin Electromancer for making your spells cheaper. also consider Sapphire Medallion and Ruby Medallion for the same reason as goblin electro.
