I've been out of the loop for some 20 odd years, but the challenge of putting together a Fog/Burn deck sounds enticing! The "turbo fog" archetype, typically has a card-draw engine in place, and a bunch of fogs to stall out your opponent — as for a burn version, it might make sense to use some direct damage spells that synergize with the extra cards you and your opponents will be holding, due to the draw effect.

Some ideas of cards that play off each other:

DRAW ENGINE: (the card drawing should allow for more consistency, since you'll have more fogs ready for each turn)

Font of Mythos , Howling Mine , Rites of Flourishing

FOGS: (add more fogs, but preferably not "frogs" — they're vulnerable to damage and removal)

Fog , Haze of Pollen , Defend the Hearth , Root Snare , Commencement of Festivities

BURNS: (here's a list of burns that take advantage of the extra cards both you and your opponents will be holding, and punishing the opponent for drawing as well)

Runeflare Trap , Molten Psyche (an interesting burn, since you should have enough artifacts in play, and works with the Runeflare Trap), Spiraling Embers , Sudden Impact , Conflagrate , Fateful Showdown , Gaze of Adamaro

ARTIFACT: (lastly, some artifacts and lands that allow expand your hand size, so you can hit for more with cards like Spiraling Embers and Conflagrate )

Spellbook , Reliquary Tower , Skullcage (another source of damage to punish opponent for holding cards), Elixir of Immortality (so you don't potentially mill yourself)

I want to see provoke on some new cards.

Also a second set of Pact cards would be great. Preferably for cards like Disenchant , Command the Storm , Zombify , Defend the Hearth and Relearn . (Pact after costs may need to be adjusted of course.)

Hi

Your deck looks great for the first try.

I was suggested your deck under my favorite deck, which uses the same commander. Had Ghalta, Primal Hungeras Commander first, but then switched to Nylea, Keen-Eyed because Ghalta was to OP ;-) Also had Nylea, God of the Hunt like you, but i don't need "Other creatures you control have trample."

What do you want to do with your deck, I did not realize.

You have some mechanics:

Landfall

+1/+1 counter

Control

If all goes well your deck is strong, but what do you do when you play against a deck that destroys/enchants the 2-3 key cards? I would add the:

Nature's Spiral

Once and Future

And remove:

Defend the Hearth

Hunter's Ambush

You say you've been playing for only a month? Makes me wonder how you got such a strong deck together, respectfully.

What helped me a lot was to make the listing personal.

@ZendikarWol I think the cycling is a really good idea to think about and because of my use of creatures maybe the convoke could be a good idea too!

Dawn Charm however is mainly here for its utility. It can counter a burn spell targeting me as well as a fog; so it actually imo probably the most optimal fog in ... Clinging Mists might be a good candidate consider being replaced with some of your suggestions because of its 3cmc.... but it seems to be really hit-or-miss with fateful hour; I use my life total as a resource/cushion and dont use fogs at all until its lethal damage, so I get in that territory often....I've both lost games because of the mana cost as well as won games with the extra turn given with the extra tap power.... The the only thing I dont like about Defend the Hearth is that it doesn't protect Kiora, the Crashing Wave .

I'm gonna try out pollen though in the stead of mists... thanks!

I am hardly a spike, so if I say something stupid, forgive me. That said, your choice in fogs seems a little... suboptimal?

Angelsong and Haze of Pollen can draw you a card if you don't need the fog. Ethereal Haze , Holy Day , and Pause for Reflection are all cheaper than Dawn Charm and Clinging Mists (and really, when is Fateful Hour gonna be active?). Winds of Qal Sisma and Defend the Hearth are one-sided wraths.

Everlasting Torment is another option in case you have players who run with damage mitigation cards such as Riot Control Defend the Hearth Deflecting Palm Druid's Deliverance etc, which would be a giant road block to cards that let opponents choose to "take damage" or do the other thing. Dash hopes, risk factor, vexing devil, sword-point diplomacy, sword-point diplomacy, and torment of scarabs, leave your cards in the control of your opponent through choice, which can then be mitigated, when they draw the right cards. Everlasting Torment strips them of that choice with possible mitigations

I'd cut Hunting Triad , Llanowar Scout , Sprouting Renewal , Blunt the Assault , Defend the Hearth , Fog , Pause for Reflection , and Root Snare fogs aren't as good as you think. It just buys you a turn without dealing with any threats
