The deck is built around two unique and effective win conditions. The first leverages Bloodletter of Aclazotz or Warlock Class (Level 3) to double life loss through impactful effects specifically, Fraying Omnipotence or Scourge of the Skyclaves (Kicker) or by connecting with Quietus Spike to deal lethal damage. The second win condition uses Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed in a loop with Pitiless Plunderer and Not Dead After All to generate infinite damage. This dual approach gives the deck flexibility and resilience in different game states, regardless if opponents have 40 life or over 9000 life. Alternatively, Painter’s Servant and Grindstone is also available for single player removal and each card provides utility if only one is out. This is the standard version of this deck, there are bracket 2 and bracket 4/5 lists as well.

The deck’s backbone includes efficient tutors, multiple forms of card draw, and a variety of ramp. Having the ability to search for the right card for the situation Vampiric Tutor, Entomb, and Grim Tutor. Alongside multiple draw spells, creatures, artifacts, enchantments, and lands that all help keep cards in hand. All of this is fueled by ramp from artifacts from mana rocks all the way to Throne of Eldraine, and lands like Ancient Tomb, Lake of the Dead, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and / or Three Tree City. With these engines, the deck aims to assemble its combos quickly while maintaining strong interaction and board control with several ways to respond to threats. When all the tools available at the deck’s disposal, it is able to pivot well between strategies with tutors, recursion, and redundancy in win conditions depending on the board state.

Depending on the game there is quite a controversial loop you can create using Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed, Volrath's Stronghold Temporal Extortion and Bloodletter of Aclazotz or Warlock Class (Level 3). If you have enough mana and the required resources to pull off this loop you can cast Temporal Extortion then the table has to figure out if someone dies or you take an extra turn. Either option is fine because you can repeat this cycle by returning Temporal Extortion to your hand by using Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed's ability and before you draw a card, activate Volrath's Stronghold to put Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed on top of your library.
