Here's what I'm looking to accomplish with this deck: leverage.

I want to get -1/-1 counters on creatures that my opponents are strongly interested in keeping on the battlefield. This may take place on an indivdual basis, but en masse is preferable. We're looking at cards such as:

• Carnifex Demon
• Midnight Banshee
• Soul Snuffers
• Black Sun's Zenith (which by the way, you can pay one into the X cost and then leverage)
• Liliana's Influence

Equally of interest are static effects cast in the image of Night of Souls' Betrayal, Ascendant Evincar, or Curse of Death's Hold.

Vhati il-Dal is also quite interested in untap effects. Though this list is light on them, here are the one's currently in use:

• Seedborn Muse
• Seeker of Skybreak
• Magewright's Stone
• Puppet Strings

There are of course several cards that help bring life totals down in the process of performing so good ole Golgari dirty work:

• Blood Artist
• Massacre Wurm
• Obelisk Spider
• Pestilence
• Pestilence Demon
• Poison-Tip Archer

In the end, the area that causes me concern about this commander is the ability to win. We of course want to encourage people to use their large creatures by putting them in a position of potential death, should they be targeted by Vhati il-Dal's activated ability. A voltron with Glistening Oil is a perfect opportunity to ride someone's game plan to a showcase showdown.

There are cards here such as Exsanguinate and Rise of the Dark Realms that are generally good cards to use in black. However, I intend for those spells to be used only to seal the victory. There isn't a sufficient amount of damage available to reliably win without using win con type spells to do just that: win.
