Welcome to Niv-Mizzet Reborn
(broke ass edition)
When I first made this deck, it was about $50-$60 but I "had" to slide in a Chromatic Lantern. Niv-Mizzet Reborn has an AWESOME etb effect so I built around it exclusively. The most important thing to get in an opening hand is tri-color lands, vivid lands, or other colored mana rocks. With any luck, you'll get something to bounce this badass. The deck is incredibly flexible and consistently provides answers to threats, time and time again.
Unless your group is going to devote counterspells to Niv-Mizzet or his absolutely bonkers ability, your hand should stay full even in the later rounds. I've balanced the color pie within the cards as much as possible while providing depth and durability of play. I've had triggers net me as few as two and as many as eight cards. The average is 4-5 cards. At a certain point in the late game I've seen it shift to dragon tribal or graveyard recursion strategies.
