Mizzet's Multiplicious Megalomania

I absolutely love this deck. I built it around the fan theory that Mizzet was cloning himself endlessly until one has a planeswalker's spark. This deck has a lot of ways around the legend rule: Mirror Gallery, Sakashima, Helm of the Host (AKA the Party Hat), Spark Double, Mutate, etc. Find a method, then start cloning in large amounts. Would it be better to build a clone deck with a different goal than breaking legend rules? Of course. Could I find a commander that better synergies with repeated duplication? Duh. But why would I? Mizzet is the man, and the world needs more of him.

Note that many of your clones can copy other people's things. I recommend it, but you need to have a great deal of ability to think on your feet to maximize the benefit from something that very likely has no synergy with the deck.

I'm debating adding Sarkhan the Masterless and more wheeling and time twistering.

Ways around legend rule: Everquill Phoenix, Sea-Dasher Octopus, and Lore Drakkis (mutate), Irenicus's Vile Duplication, Mirror Box, Mirror Gallery, Helm of the Host, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, Spark Double.

Clones and things that create clones: Clever Impersonator, Clone, Dance of Many, Endless Evil, Fable of the Mirror Breaker, Feldon (only if in graveyard), Identity Thief, Irrenicus's Vile Duplication, Kiki-Jiki, Mirage Mirror, Mirrormade, Mirrorpool, Protean Raider, Quasiduplicate, both Saheelis, both Sakashimas, Shapesharer, Spark Double, Splinter Twin, Undercover Operator, Vesuvan Doppelganger & Shapeshifter

Good cloning targets that are not Mizzet: Windreader Sphinx, Solemn Simulacrum (best used with Kiki's ability), Rekindling Phoenix (when it does, you get an extra egg that cannot come back as a phoenix, but it's an extra chump blocker), Prodigal Sorcerer (a fave clone target of mine going back to 1994), Platinum Angel, Mesmerizing Benthid (to frustrate people), Jace's Archivist, Fortune Thief, Oneirophage, Dockside Extortionist (duh), Ali from Cairo (would normally be a legend, but he predates the card type). A special note on Ali from Cairo, Fortune Thief, and Platinum Angel; duplicating these effects is very worthwhile to prevent losing. Generally, they're all removal targets, but if you get your clone machine rolling, that doesn't matter much. Of course, wipes ruin your day.

Ways to draw cards: Jace's Archivist, Midnight Clock, the Nivs, Recall (technically recursion), repeatedly using Kiki on the Sad Robot, Teferi's Ageless Insight and Puzzle Box, Wheel of Fortune, Windreader Sphinx.

Things not in the deck: There are 5 instants and sorceries total. This is both because of the overall theme of the deck, my distaste for counters, and my overwhelming hate for Izzet being customarily the spellslinger combo. I do things my way.

How can this be improved? There's certainly a number of sub-optimal cards mostly in because I just like them, and I started playing with The Dark. Hence, Serendib Efreet, the original Clone, Draconian Cylix, and debatably the Vesuvans, though those are actually unique among clone effects. If you want to make it more competitive, those would likely be good things to cut. The 2 other versions of Niv would likely be worth trimming in favor of some non-legendary that has an idiotic ETB trigger (which I generally despise). If you want to make it cheaper (which I recommend), Wheel of Fortune can be replaced with Reforge the Soul or any number of other baby wheels or baby twisters. Ali from Cairo is very far from necessary. I use both those cards (which are over half the deck's pricetag) simply because I have them and love them.
