This deck has a heavy emphasis on sacrificing creatures for benefits, most often drawing cards, but occasionally other effects, as well, and it naturally has plenty of effects that generate creature tokens, to ensure that the player has a steady supply of creatures to sacrifice; it also has numerous effects that trigger from creatures dying, such as Poison-Tip Archer or Dark Prophecy, as well as creatures that have inherent effects that trigger when they die, such as Kokusho, the Evening Star or Junji, the Midnight Sky; I definitely would like to have put Kura, the Boundless Sky in this deck, but I am content with the creatures whom I chose. I chose Meren of Clan Nel Toth as the general, so that I can resurrect creatures that I have scarified, and sacrifice them, again. I had contemplated putting Elder Gargaroth in this deck, but I ultimately decided that Grave Titan would be better, since it produces two tokens at a time. I even have lands that allow me to sacrifice creatures, as well; I contemplated putting Miren, the Moaning Well in this deck, but I will not pay 3 mana for its effect, so I chose High Market, instead, since the sacrifice outlet is more important than is the amount of life that it grants. I did not have room to put Seedborn Muse in the deck, since I have it in every other EDH deck that I have made that contains green, but I do not expect that that shall be a major problem, since I shall rarely be attacking with my creatures in this deck, and the majority of the sacrifice effects in this deck do not require permanents to be tapped in order to be used.

I had difficulty choosing a name for this deck, but I ultimately feel that the name that I chose suits it, since creatures shall be dying quite frequently, and it does have numerous ways to revive them. I almost named it "Beyond the Grave," but I think that I shall save that name for a zombie-themed deck, if I ever build such a deck.
