it's looking a lot better! Keep at it!

I suggest swapping out Marble Chalice for Chalice of Life  Flip.

As a rule of thumb, I usually aim for a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 removal spells. Including Royal Assassin, you're at 11 right now. I'd suggest moving Feed the Serpent and Make Your Move to the sideboard. That will reduce your deck from 65 to 62. I'd cut Murder completely, as it's a less good version of Breathe Your Last, and I'd increase Breathe Your Last from 2 copies to 4. I believe that will bring you total to 60 spells, and bring your removal spells to 6 I think, which is 2 more than most decks. Remember that even at the casual, budget level, Modern is a very fast and powerful format. There are plenty of very cheap infinite combo decks out there that can win by Turn 3, so while it can be vital to disrupt your opponent with removal spells (etc), you will likely only get the chance to cast 1-3 removal spells in game. You'll still want to cast creature spells and in the early turns (1-4) you'll often have to choose which one spell you should cast.

You've still got the troublesome issue of quite a few spells that require 2 black mana to cast. As a rule of thumb, it's always harder to cast spells that require two the same color mana to cast in deck running more than one color. It's not impossible, but can definitely become a bothersome roadblock, especially without any dual lands.

Finally, I'm only about half sold on Dazzling Reflection. I can see how powerful it could be, but I also think it's a bit hyper specific in it's utility. I wonder if you might get more mileage out of a good old Holy Day or the worse MV of Riot Control that has a broader effect.

Decks looks fine, but... Isn't it would be stronger if there was more cards that generates more life gain triggers?
For example, Marble Chalice, Ephara's Radiance, Silent Attendant and many other cards make only 1 life gain trigger in a circle (from your turn to your next turn).
But cards like Royal Herbalist, Leonin Elder or Confessor would generate much more. There is also better to rid off augmenting cards like Ethereal Armor. Because it easier to gain life 3-4 times, then to attack with a creature and deal damage (still only to one opponent).

Well, in my opinion, there is better way to change whole tactics. More lifelink augments + creatures with more then one trigger in a circle would be more effectively.
Fencing Ace or Cuombajj Witches + Squire's Devotion can heal you twice each turn. There is also a way to add two triggers in a circle to make tokens Queen's Commission and protect them with evasion or enchantments like Lumithread Field or Parapet

Suns_Champion on Ayli, Life Gain Eternal

MtgNewb99 Yes it is. You play both then either gain 1 life or have an opponent lose 1 life and you kill the entire board.

chilen18 if you don't like the combo you could always just run Sanguine Bond. Still powerful in it's own right.

Some cut suggestions:

Augur il-Vec

Marble Chalice

Scion of Darkness

And I guess as a general tip, decide what exactly you want the deck to do and run with it. Life gain into Felidar Sovereign win? Look for cards that do that. Gain/Drain combo? Look for cards to support that. Cleric tribal? Awesome! Find some more good clerics! I'd recommend looking around at other Ayli decks to see what they got going on. If you find a theme you like you can move in that direction, or maybe it'll inspire a new idea. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

chosenone124 on The Scarab God vs Clever …

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what happens if The Scarab God creates a copy of Clever Impersonator?

  1. Clever Impersonator copies a 5/5 creature.

  2. Clever Impersonator copies a Marble Chalice (does it become a noncreature zombie basically).

  3. Clever Impersonator copies a Vehicle.

Good Start here. I also built an orzhov lifegain deck early on when getting into EDH.

Some cards I'd rec:Rhox Faithmender, Wall of Limbs, Beacon of Immortality, Crypt Incursion, Boon Reflection, Celestial Mantle, One Thousand Lashes, Pillory of the Sleepless, Tainted Sigil, Chalice of Life  Flip, Marble Chalice,

Planeswalkers:Ajani Goldmane, Sorin, Grim Nemesis, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Sorin, Solemn Visitor.

I used Karlov of the Ghost Council instead of Obzedat. He's a ton of fun to play with. If you want to see my deck: Soul Shakedown Party

Cool deck!

Some suggestions(though the deck looks fun already!:D)

Fountain of Youth is a free drop, Braidwood Cup (also see Marble Chalice for a colored version) is the opposite- costs 3 to drop, but guarantees you trigger at least a counter on Karlov every turn. Skullmead Cauldron does the same but with an extra buff.

Alternatively, Pristine Talisman gives you the same thing for a few more cents and doubles as a mana rock :D

High Market got reprinted so it's super cheap now, Pious Kitsune gives you another white tap-to-gain-life. Druidic Satchel is good stuff that gets you life as well.Filigree Familiar is Solemn Simulacrum's cheaper pet.
