Feline Sovereign

Creature — Cat

Other cats you control get +1/+1 and have protection from Dogs. ((Remember the acronym debt.) This creature can't be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked or targeted by Dogs.)

Whenever one or more Cats you control deal combat damage to a player, destroy up to one target artifact or enchantment that player controls.

MrHawtStuff,

You have lots of cat lords, Feline Sovereign, Kaheera, the Orphanguard, King of the Pride, etc. as well it works with self-modifiers like Loam Lion and Qasali Pridemage the new cat Sovereign Okinec Ahau can permanently +1/+1 counter your cats. Notably missing (in your maybeboard) Regal Caracal would give everyone lifelink too.

Glittering Lynx seems off, the isn't that disruptive for an opponent if it matters. I think you're trying to maximize your MV 1-drop cats, but Arcbound Mouser would give you a second Trained Caracal with upside instead. Lion Sash is also nice, but it is MV 2-drop.

The other new cat would be good: Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar, he could replace something like a vanilla Leonin Skyhunter or a mana sync like Bronzehide Lion or a really high cmc creature with low value like Jareth, Leonine Titan who probably is a win-more at MV6 that won't turn a loss into a win, really he MV7 to activate. Card in that MV slot has to be extremely impactful. Cats like Scrounging Bandar also work well with this new cat. Limiting interaction on your turn especially flashing in +3 spells (Indomitable Might) is really nice.

Leonin Relic-Warder is nice for controlling artifacts/enchantments and providing another MV2 cat.

Everybody Lives! gives another Heroic Intervention type effect.

Farseek is MV2 but I'm betting Harvest Season probably does more work at MV3. 35 lands seems like a lot for a low curve, maybe some low MV ramp like Talisman of Unity. Boseiju, Who Endures is a good forest but it's stupid expensive.

Rancor is a really nice trample/evasion enabler. Or like a Shadowspear or something which also helps out with Indestructibles blocking your cats. Pridemalkin is on a cat body, but don't like the MV3.

Mirri's Guile is okay, but a bit of a trap, way more value at MV2 with Sylvan Library

Song of the Dryads I get for locking out a commander but some instant interaction like Stroke of Midnight are usually more utility in more situations, might be a meta card though.

Eladamri's Call will bring up consistency to draw the finisher cats.

Cheers

Hello, fellow cat and dog enjoyer. I noticed that you pretty much stuffed every cat or dog in naya colors in that you could find but not a single changeling. While changelings might not be satisfying since they don't look like a cat or a dog, they provide great value because they actually trigger Rin & Seris ability twice generating two tokens instead of just one. They also benefit from both lord effects. Notable examples of changelings are:

Additionally, you seem to have missed (or purposfully no included?) some rather powerful cats and dogs:

Just a few for you to consider. I have a list of all good (in my opinion) cats and dogs in my Rin & Seri list: Rin and Seri

Now, let's be real: Its not the best tribal. So I wouldn't force cat and dogs as hard as you do and also supplement with normal creatures like Mondrak, Glory Dominus or Bloom Tender .

You also do not seem to have a lot of draw options in your deck. Depending on the pod you are playing in, board wipes might be present and can absolutely wreck your game plan. Draw effects help you recover from this. Sadly, Naya is not the best color combination for drawing cards and most of the good draw effects are really expensive. You can see some suggestions for draw effects in my deck list: Rin and Seri

I would highly recommend proxying if your pod allows it. Be careful with draw effect like Camaraderie or Shamanic Revelation. They look good on paper in a token theme but they are "win more" cards in my opinion. If your board got wiped and you draw into those cards, they will not do a thing to help you recover. A wheel effect like Wheel of Misfortune however, will draw you 7 fresh cards to start again.

Lastly, I would recommend getting some tutors in there. Eladamri's Call, Green Sun's Zenith, Natural Order and the like. The best card in your deck by far is Jetmir, Nexus of Revels. He is basically your secret commander. If you can resolve him with 9 creatures on the board, you can devastate your opponents out of the blue. All the more important to be able to find him if you need him.

That's all for now. Have fun!

Fushiii - Me again! If you are looking for inspiration, here are some suggested decks...Personally I think that the most competitive cat tribal deck I have seen was Kaheera Cats and Chariots :3 from NonetheWeisser. I never tried it but just the look of the deck is very aggressive with many ways that creature boost themselves naturally or with some cheap enchantments. The guy makes sick decks...To toot my own horn, my own take on cats was very different as I focused on the token production with Feline Feelings. I played that deck a lot of MTGO in modern and it faired pretty well actually with a solid win rate. What I am getting at is you can go a lot of ways with cats and they are underrated I feel like in terms of how powerful they actually are and I would need more of an idea of what direction you are wanting your deck to take before I could make any relevant suggestions.

In terms of lords, there is King of the Pride for sheer pump, Feline Sovereign for artifact/enchantment hate, Kaheera, the Orphanguard of which you can have as your companion if you meet the conditions which is pretty slick...pretty much allows you to play 61 cards instead of 60!, and Regal Caracal who is great but pretty expensive for modern. So lots of good stuff to chose from!

Looks fun!

I would personally cut the Spike Feeder and replace it with Regal Caracal - unless you want to go all in on combo win and add Felidar Sovereign.

Feline Sovereign is another really awesome cat that could do some major work in games.

I'd suggest cutting some things like Savannah Lions / Sacred Cat /Loam Lion which generally aren't going to be too impactful and add Feline Sovereign, Adorned Pouncer, and Regal Caracal. Adorned Pouner in particular is awesome, since double strike means you basically get your eminence ability twice ^_^

Really like this build. Consider revisiting this with new cat tribal stuff like:

And more potentially coming in Dominaria United. This is a fire build where a few newer pieces such as these could make all the difference.

I am surprised you are not considering Rin and Seri, Inseparable. Seems like a good fit!

Also, it seems kinda wrong that worst nightmare for this deck is a cat tribal deck...Feline Sovereign would be devastating!

On a more serious note, have you ever actually cast Angrath's Marauders? At 7 CMC, it is pretty underwhelming. I would recommend you find something cheaper that has a better ability...like Rin and Seri, Inseparable!!!

Also, definitely drop Wind-Scarred Crag for Battlefield Forge. Playing a tapland always slows things down. I only recommended Battlefield Forge as it is the same thing but does not enter tapped.

wallisface - I do not know if there is a way to upvote you but you recently gave comments on another of my decks (For Honor and Glory!!!) so thank you again for your thoughts! It really is helpful!

Your first point is definitely spot on that when the deck loses, it is mostly due to slow, cumbersome hands. I will take a look at the mana curve and see if I can get some lower cost cards in there. In regard to ramp, I do not have a nice ramping cat like Knight of the White Orchid like I did with For Honor and Glory!!!, so I am guessing I will have to add in some sorcery cards for that if I want to add in some ramping. Any in particular you find more useful that others?

My land count used to be 24 for this deck in earlier versions but I actually removed some based on what some mana calculators I found said was recommended based on the total mana count and each CMC of the cards in the deck. I will say shaving it down to 21 lands helps get in some extra stuff but it does feel like it is hard to get out the 4+ cmc at times...I will look into getting at least 23 lands back in.

Again, you are not wrong. The only stuff I have to mess with an opponent are Feline Sovereign's ability to remove artifacts/enchantments if I can do damage to a player mixed with Path to Exile and Reciprocate for removal and sometimes I can drop a timely Mana Tithe and ruin a turn for my opponent. Heroic Intervention is in place to help deal with disrupting removal/damage but that is all I currently got. Since this deck was mainly focused on creatures, I did not really think of trying to throw the opponent off. Any recommendations for ideas?

Thanks again for your thoughts!

In that case, the best thing I can think of as reusable removal, would be something like the flipped side of Outland Liberator  Flip or Feline Sovereign, but both are pretty situational.

If you had access to , Trygon Predator would be a better choice since it has evasion at least, but the whole having to attack part is kind of not ideal anyway.
