Here's a starting line for a fun "toughness matters" deck with a new commander from jumpstart. I left the higher priced aspirational cards in the sideboard, but you can sub them in as you acquire them.

I didn't skimp much on the lands, and cyclonic rift though. rift is too good not to maindeck, and lands have been dropping in price enough to not to worry too much about pricing.

This deck leans a bit away from the "defender" side, and more into high toughness creatures.
