Simic Water Torture

Commander / EDH

going to be counter and tap out your opponent. So, about this deck. Many (many, many, many, many) moons ago I was still getting InQuest Gamer MAGAZINE around the turn of the millennium (there I'm showing my age a bit) as Halloween was in season. One of their Halloween themed articles was named "The deadly decks (and how to beat them)" or something like that (Issue #69, go ahead and laugh). One of the decks was "Chinese Water torture #1" and of course it was the counter spell deck. Several decks later was "Chinese Water Torture #2" I can't remember this as much but I am sure it was either bouncing or tapping out the opponent. I personally can't think of anything more torturous than having the resources out on the field, but being unable to use them at all. In the old school casual days I used Horseshoe Crab and Opposition to tap out my opponents. This deck combines both water tortures into a deck that is almost the complete opposite of my normal play style. I teamed blue with green and really twisted the Simic theme. So here is how the deck works; Temporal Distortion slows the game down, but I should have Seedborn Muse out as well to keep the game from slowing me down to much. From there I use Kruphix, God of Horizons to tap out at the end of turns to get a colorless mana ocean (instead of a pool, get it) and the muse untaps everything right away. I concentrate on tapping permanents to make it so my opponents do as close to nothing has possible and horde counter spells. The usual pillow fort cards are in here Propaganda and Collective Restraint but some unorthodox mana wasters as well like Soul Barrier, Errant Minion, and Rhystic Study join them as well. To win this deck uses the normally sh!tty Erithizon and pairs it with Cytoplast Manipulator and Forgotten Ancient to steal creatures along with some other creature theft and the cloning cards to borrow from the field.

P.S. I have found that when paired with Kruphix, God of Horizons and Temporal Distortion; Power Sink goes from a pain in the ass card to down right evil.
