Haldan is Makhno by merit of glorious facial hair. I'm not sure if Makhno ever owned a dog, but I haven't found any sources that say he didn't, so Pako is here too. Together they do a good job of expropriating property from the nobility (your opponents) and redistributing it to the peasantry (you).

Halana and Alena are filling in for Makhno's wife and daughter, Halyna and Yelena.

Ballista Charger represents Makhno's invention, the tachanka (a horse-drawn cart carrying a heavy machine gun).

Most of the rest of the cards fall into one or more of these categories:
