Pako, Arcane Retriever Discussion

If I have a Pako, Arcane Retriever clone and the original Pako attacking, do both Pakos benefit from each others triggers as it regards +1/+1 counters?

I'm making a Pako, Arcane Retriever and Haldan, Avid Arcanist deck. But I don't know what sub theme to pick. I obviously want to attack with Pako and then play some of the exiled cards with Haldan on the battlefield. I also want to keep the creatures in the deck low, to not exile them when Pako attacks. I have chosen some spells that put permanents on top of opponents libraries, as some kind of removal and steal effect.

The deck is quite budget and I want it to be more fun to play than competitive. Hit me with some suggestions :)

Jeweled Lotus is a great card in CEDH, but in casual commander it doesn't stand up to the hype.

Unless you are playing a commander that has an obscene about of power and a CMC of 3-5, then it isn't that big of a deal.

By turn 2 or 3 a typical commander table will have an answer for a commander, so by rushing yours out you are just jumping at the front of the line to eat their removal loaded hand. Sure if you get your commander out turn 1, then you can get a turn or two of value out of it before they get to 2 or 3 mana to play their removal. But if you are rushing out Omnath, Locus of Rage on turn 4, then most likely you just lost card advantage and now your 7 cost commander costs 9 so you've likely put yourself out of the game.

The only deck I'm running Jeweled Lotus in is Pako, Arcane Retriever. Commanders like him that give you huge amounts of card advantage and have to be answered at instant speed to deny the value are the only ones where this card is worth it.

Omniscience_is_life I actually haven’t built either yet!

Since you mentioned it, here’s a list of what I’ve already built.

I have built Gallowbraid, the Pako, Arcane Retriever and Haldan, Avid Arcanist pairing, Jhoira of the Ghitu, Triad of Fates, Slimefoot, the Stowaway, and the Krav, the Unredeemed and Regna, the Redeemer pairing, and I am currently building Kathril, Aspect Warper.

As I mentioned, there are several commanders that have already been suggested, but if something’s already been suggested and gets mentioned again, I’ll just jump it up the queue!

You are correct, you're only able to play cards you exiled. As your opponent exiled them with Pako, Arcane Retriever you will not be able to cast them, and your opponent will be able to if they ever control Haldan, Avid Arcanist again.

Alright, I used a random selector and got Pako, Arcane Retriever! So he and Haldan, Avid Arcanist will be the first new EDH Under $1 commanders! I'll be selecting commanders randomly, new ones can be added to the list at any time.
