[EDH] Ramses, The Infect King!

Commander / EDH UB (Dimir)

HiveMindRock

Guys, infect in edh is so toxic!

...I might hear you say. As I understand it, the reason EDH has a stigma against infect is because it focuses down one player, removing them from the game early, and going on to do almost nothing else because their resources were spent on one takedown. This feels pretty terrible. It shortens the game drastically for one person but keeps the game overall going for everyone else. Obviously, that's just kinda lame; the best EDH games are the ones where everyone has a chance to pop off and play, and when the game ends it usually ends within 2-4 rounds after the first person drops. This can't really happen in infect. Infect has been traditionally pretty weak in EDH for this reason; the infect player may kill one or two players, but they don't win. Therefore, it doesn't get played much, and so when it does get seen it has this negative stigma around it.

Ramses solves the infect problem!

I'm interested in building a deck around him because it solves those issues of infect making for a highly targeted but non-winning archetype. It makes infect an interesting thing to play around, while making you the definite "arch-nemesis" of the table.
