-1 Knight of the White Orchid ( apparently the deck was 61 xD) -2 Meddling Mage (More circumstantial, headed to sideboard) -2 Glimmerpoint Stag (rarely usful, opted for trafts lower cmc and early pressure) -4 Mana Leak (weak mid-late game) -1 Venser +4 Rune Snag (better overall to Mana Leak due to inherent grindiness of deck) +2 Geist of Saint Traft (combos with sundial especially if blocked)as well as more aggro +2 Lone Missionary (Seem to inflict a decent amount of damage to self) +1 Ob Nixilis the Fallen (way to deal damage without attacking for mid game kills)
W/L 3-1

First match was Omnath, Locus of Rage, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and a Bant bird tribal. At first it looked like the bant deck was pulling ahead with fliers that are basically unblockable bringing Omnath down to 30. But then the Omnath deck dropped a Nevinyrral's Disk I decided just to play lands and fill my hand with Land Tax out until he popped it. I played heliod and he blew the disk end of my turn and I activated Heliod, God of the Sun for a blocker. Then I played some swords to get pro red, green, and blue, some lifelink; swinging at Omnath every turn. He kept attacking Purphoros to bring someone down with him I guess finally I dropped Avacyn and swung at him for lethal sacced all his creatures to deal lethal to Purphoros. it went down to me and Birds. I put 2 swords, a cloak and Basilisk Collar on Avacyn and he scooped.
Second game was my first loss, it was a The Mimeoplasm GY combo deck, Rasputin Dreamweaver group hug, and 5c General Tazri deck? it wasn't ally tribal I wasn't really sure what he was doing maybe good stuff?? Anyway I drop an early Elspeth, Knight-Errant turning me into the target while the group hug slowly starts piecing together a infinite turn combo while I'm trying to stay alive with Sword of War and Peace and no max hand size lifegain then out of nowhere the glass cannon group hug deck draws the reanimator combo deck into Necrotic Ooze, Triskelion, and Phyrexian Devourer combo on turn 7. The reason I hate group hug because versing combo decks it's like "here you go, draw more cards, find your combo, win the game!"
Third was Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker reanimator, Rafiq of the Many voltron, and Mayael the Anima. Voltron drops 14 commander damage turn 4 hitting the reanimator and myself the following 2 turns. I blow up Rafiq with Elspeth, Sun's Champion the following turns instead of dealing with the voltron deck I'm targeted for my planeswalker rafiq drops a Sigarda, Host of Herons followed by Mayael droping Angel of Serenity. I drop my second Elspeth and get hit to lethal range. The Mayael deck takes out my Elspeth, Knight-Errant instead of hitting Voltron again... then tries to wipe the board and like every blue deck he counters the sweeper. I play Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite to avoid lethal from Rafiq. I top deck Avacyn, Angel of Hope and rafiq tries bluffing an instant Day of Judgment? Mayael scoops to me presenting lethal, Rafiq scoops because of my blockers from Heliod, God of the Sun giving my whole board vigilance, and I swing at reanimator for the win. Regardless of the scoops I would have had reanimator and Mayael dead that turn and Rafiq on a 2 turn clock with Indestructible. Top deck Cyclonic Rift was his only out.
editors note: After 3 games I might remove either Whispersilk Cloak or Lightning Greaves the shroud ability hurts me a lot, making it hard to add more equipments to a creatures
Third win was basically a 1v1 against Merieke Ri Berit control deck we joined a multiplayer game one guy scooped immediately and the other quit when he missed a land drop. At first I worked on the beat down with a Puresteel Paladin since his commmander was out meanwhile I'm holding a Transcendent Master as soon as he's tired being hit by a 2/2 he steals it with Merieke and I drop Transcendent Master and a Fireshrieker with Sigarda's Aid next turn I level him to 6. Control was on the back burner (literally drawing an answer with Sensei's Divining Top every other turn) the entire time he could counter every other equipment I cast but he couldn't keep up with Heliod, the Sun Gods token generation. At one point (and I hate to toot my own horn but this was my favorite play) he's got his commander out and tapped, a 2/4 Tefferi I think it was? a Grave Titan and the 2 tokens so I swing in with 3 Clerics and all my mana open, he takes like 5 minutes going over every possible combat trick I can have blocks 1 cleric with the titan and my double strike one with a token, no combat trick, I play Skullclamp draw 4 cards and I wiped with All is Dust to save my artifacts. Soon after though he wiped both our boards and I recurred Fireshrieker with Sun Titan and dropped a Sword of Feast and Famine which he had to block every turn sine land untapping would create way to many tokens with vigilance and he only had one card in hand. Eventually it went to time from his slow plays but I was swinging at 17 life with 7/7 double strike lifelink, 4 2/1s and 4/3 Sword of Feast and Famine all with vigilance (I love the vigilance it breaks things) at 70 life.

Never drew Curious Homunculus once in over 10 games. Plus I snagged an FTV Cabal Ritual so I swapped them. +Cabal Ritual -Curious Homunculus

Some key updates
Nimbleturtle, 9 years ago
Hey y'all. There are some key things I wanted to update with the deck: 1) Liliana of the Veil gives the deck so much versatility: removal or hand pressure. My favorite play is to dump extra Bitterblossoms, land or Lingering Souls. This is the best card to have against the unfavorable matches and isn't too shabby in the favorable ones either! I used to run 2 Gideon and 2 Sorin. The problem with running 4 planeswalker was that you'd see multiples in your opening hand. This ruins your early game hands. I wanted more anthem effects but that came at a cost. Even cards like Intangible Virtues are not the best cards to open with. With Liliana of the Veil, you can afford to run more because the difference between 3-mana and 4-mana is substantial. In the end, I can only support 3 four-mana planeswalker: 2 Sorin and 1 Gideon. 2) Ever since the new fastlands were printed, I decided to cut down each fetchland. I very much like this result. Although the conventional wisdom is to run as many fetches possible, I just find this unnecessary. Even when I fetched a basic, I felt like I was losing way too much life throughout the course of the game. Although I love the Shambling Vents, I wanted to play my threats as quickly as possible in this new build. I cut it down to 3. 3) Since I'm playing 3 Fetid Heaths, I figured Spectral Procession is worth trying out over Midnight Haunting.

Trying out Kambal, Consul of Allocation
MrBiggieD, 9 years ago
Saw this guy in the spoilers for Kaladesh and immediately wanted to try him out in the deck. Can't wait to get my hands on some to do some testing! At the very least, he'll be great sideboard material.
A Few More Changes
PurePazaak, 9 years ago
-1 Sagu Mauler
I feel like Swarmlord can do a lot for me, and i like the Idea of Offering. Very Commander-esque (also very good for me!). Sage is much more flexible than Corrupter, as was previously mentioned in the comments. Infect is great, but enchantments do exist!

More chaos wanted

It's been a while since I've actually been on for some dedicated Magic, so let me kow if there are any awesome chaotic cards I should consider putting into this!
Deck update and direction
pokepower116, 9 years ago
-1 Arcane Lighthouse, -1 Crawlspace
+1 Island, +1 Cackling Counterpart
Both Arcane Lighthouse and Crawlspace went over $2 so I subbed them out with an Island and Cackling Counterpart for the time being. I wanted to put in Dreamstone Hedron instead but don't have a copy lying around.
Braids has become my favorite low-power deck along with Jolrael. These are by far my two most fun decks and people generally seem to have fun playing against them. Even though they both don't win that regularly, these are my "fun" decks and I intend to keep them that way.
After losing a lot of games in a row I was considering adding in the counterspell package and cutting out a few cards for them, but honestly the main reasons why I want counterspells in the deck is just to keep Braids alive longer. So I think going forward with this deck I'm going to look into more protection for Braids without being too "prison-y".
