after Playtesting about 60 games.

I have noticed that in 60 games I have only hit Arlinn Kord  Flip once and she was immediately taken care of so I am dropping her. In her place I am placing 4x Matter Reshaper I also took about 1x Bristling Hydra I cannot remember the fourth card I took out for the playset. However I have also removed Galvanic Bombardment because even though it is a cheap instant that can do up to 5 damage I never saw enough to make a difference. So in its place I am putting Eldritch Evolution. More often than not this will allow you too put whatever creature you need at that moment to win the game. It has also allowed me to get out of some sticky situations by allowing me to fetch for Arborback Stomper also you are able to use it to get a 1 for 2 type deal with both Filigree Familiar and Matter Reshaper

FNM 3-2: 5th Overall

KaiserWilhelm, 9 years ago

This deck's first time at FNM and I am quite happy with it.

Game one: 2:0 vs B/R Vampires - Quite a good matchup for me. Got me quite low with aggro in game one, but was able to pull through a win. Game two after sideboard was easy, as I was able to flicker Linvala, the Preserver twice to gain myself back up and give me board presence.

Game two: 2:0 vs G/R Werewolves - Easy matchup. Removed all their creatures and was able to get Ob Nixilis Reignited, Liliana, the Last Hope and Sorin, Grim Nemesis ultimates off, which was nice.

Game three: 1:2 vs G\U Emerge - Interesting matchup. The deck I was against ran a lot of scion makers to help ramp into big emerge creatures which were difficult to deal with like Elder Deep-Fiend. Was not able to really remove them from his hand, as he kept chaining them off Sanctum of Ugin. Will need to find something to help with this matchup.

Game four: 2:0 vs B/R Control - Was able to remove most threats from the hand with Transgress the Mind and Thought-Knot Seer and was able to keep them from having a board presence with removal.

Game Five: 0:2 vs Bant Coco - This was a very difficult matchup, but considering the deck will be gone come rotation I am not too worried.

Overall I am very happy with how this deck performed. I think that, come rotation, it could be still quite good provided that I bring in some more artifact hate sideboard. Archangel Avacyn  Flip and Collective Defiance will probably leave the sideboard, due to not being favorable cards to sideboard in for this deck, I don't think I am running enough creatures to validate them.

Revisit and Readjustments

I should really slow down with changing the list so I can take some time for acquiring cards. Details about the update: - Changed the maximum budget to $100, because I'm gonna take it easy with the changes - Massive edit to the decklist, maybeboard now serves the purpose of having cards I want to acquire some day and are out of my budget right now - More compact primer to save room, and possibly add in more features once I get a better grip on html coding

Spell Queller + Overdoing It

-Bean-, 9 years ago

Re-working the page styling and description. Also, added some Spell Quellers. It's a great card, works well in the deck, and finally lets me take out Geist of Saint Traft which was, annoyingly, the only creature without flying in the mainboard.

Removing acidic slime (already have creatures that does the same thing), awakening zone (dead draw mid and late game, I would never tutor for it), dictate of erebos (maybe not needed with grave pact, sheoldred, merciless and flesh bag), oracle of Mul Daya Adding vampiric tutor, crop rotation, dark confidant, contamination I was about to remove blood artist, but he won me a game with toxic deluge. Im still on the fence about him.

FNM- Jubilee

carvscards, 9 years ago

Played FNM at my LGS and I went 2-2. I was happy with the way my deck performed, but have made some much needed changes to my deck to combat some weaknesses I face at my LGS. Match 1 I went against a R/G pump deck using Kiln Fiend. The deck beat me first game, but after I sideboarded I was able to come back two games to one. Next match I faced an infinite combo deck using Reveillark, Goblin Arsonist, and a few other pieces. I beat him soundly game one and game three (after sideboarding in Relic of Progenitus for game three). Match 3 I went against a Mono Red Goblins deck that uses Blood Moon in the mainboard. I ended up losing to it because of its speed and how it makes my lands useless. Last match was against a Mono White Humans deck. I went 2-1 against this deck (my second loss of the night). Game two I had enough hand manipulation and control to be able to keep his board state at bay. After FNM, my changes to my main and side board (respectively) were 2 Thoughtseizes for a Midnight Haunting and a Runechanter's Pike and 3 Erase in the sideboard in place of the Thoughtseizes (that went to the main) and a Kataki. I hope this will help me control aggro more in the early stages of the game and will let me keep Blood Moon at bay. I do like having the 3rd copy of Sorin over Elspeth as it negates some dmg from all the pain lands, the Thoughtseizes, and the Dismembers; so, the third copy is here to stay.

Minor update and Question

-2 Eyeblight's Ending -2 Garruk Wildspeaker +4 Grisly Salvage

2 Nemesis of Mortals moved to side and +2 Mindwrack Demon added to main

Eyeblight's Ending is not good with all of the elves roaming around and Garruk Wildspeaker is probably too slow. Grisly Salvage fills the yard, replaces itself, and should have been in the deck from the beginning. Mindwrack Demon swapped for Nemesis of Mortals due to flying and helping achieve delirium. Nemesis of Mortals moved to the maybe board instead of removed because I'm still thinking it may be good with all of the creatures in the yard.

What do all of you think about Nameless Inversion and Collective Brutality? Nameless Inversion is two types and kills a fair amount of creatures. Collective Brutality has options and can help fill the yard. Also, are there any sorcery cards or good creature cards with an effect like Grisly Salvage? Only two I can think of are Commune with the Gods and Satyr Wayfinder and neither seem worth it.

Also thinking of swapping Strangleroot Geist for Bloodsoaked Champion since Strangleroot costs double green and Bloodsoaked works from the yard.
