I love plants, and you should too

Commander / EDH* Lands RG (Gruul)

This deck's main strategy is to utilize Phylath, World Sculptor and landfall triggers to make a massive board that will be able to just swing for lethal.

The first goal is to get Phylath on to the battlefield as fast as possible while generating a ton of basics for him to create plants. This is why I'm running cards like Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Migration Path, and others. These will get the basics we need to get Phylath on to the battlefield sometimes by turn 4 or 5, and allow us to really start swinging turn 6.
With all of these lands we are getting, we need to play creatures that actually use them, Spitfire Lagac is great for poking down your enemies before you play Phylath. Another one of my favorite creatures in this deck is Scute Swarm. If you play this creature after you've cast Phylath, you will have 6 lands and that means every land you play will double your Scute Swarms, which will quickly make your board bigger than others at the table will be able to stop. Lotus Cobra is also really good when it comes to speeding our game up, and allows us to do so much more in the early game. Iridescent Hornbeetle is another allstar in this deck, creating 4 insects per land drop on your end step due to the counters we are putting on our plants!
The only thing better than one landfall trigger is two. To accomplish this we are running cards like Strionic Resonator and Lithoform Engine, both of which at least let us copy our landfall triggers, and Lithoform will let us copy just about everything. Cards like Conjurer's Closet and Panharmonicon allow us to grow our plant army to insane levels. We also run cards like Doubling Season, Branching Evolution and Kalonian Hydra to make our plants a lot more formidable.
The real win cons in this deck are Moraug, Fury of Akoum paired with either Boundless Realms or Traverse the Outlands to take a bunch of extra combats with a bunch of really big plants. Or if you don't have Moraug available because he ate removal, you can always just make one really big plant and finish it off with an Overwhelming Stampede and laugh as your 40/40 plants stomp everything in their path.
I find this deck does not really need to run protection, simply because losing Moraug doesn't hinder you much if at all, and people are hesitant to remove your commander because they dont want you to make even more plants when you recast him. This deck's main protection is the fact that you generally dump more threats than they can remove, however I do plan on slotting in a Heroic Intervention though, so there is something to prevent a boardwipe should you be in a good position to win and dont want to lose your board.
I've looked at cutting Panharmonicon, because it doesnt really do much unless I either haven't yet cast Phylath, or if Conjurer's Closet is on the battlefield. Zendikar's Roil is also on the list, because it can sort of feel like a win-more card, that feels bad to draw in the early to mid game when I'd rather be doing other things with my mana. Omnath, Locus of Rage also kind of falls into this area, mostly because he is very costly to cast, and while the 5/5s are nice, I dont find myself often using him to win the game. I'm currently waiting on an Ancient Greenwarden and a Ramunap Excavator to put in this deck to make it easier to get landfall triggers.

The only controversial cut here should be Terrastodon, and I personally think Gargaroth is just a better creature overall
