This is my Alrund deck, the goal is to ramp, draw tons of cards, make sure you have no maximum hand size with something like reliquary tower or Folio of fancies, then drop Alrund and start swinging, preferably when he is at least above a 10/10 or even better a 21/21 or higher so you can kill in one shot.

I didn't build around Alrunds' second ability, it was underwhelming to me when I was Playtesting different decks before I built this one.

I use Hakka intermittently if I have extra mana for some card selection, and to get extra commander damage in, especially when Heroes Blade or Grafted wargear is on the battlefield. Swinging with Hakka and then recasting him on the same turn so he can swing again on the next turn seems to do a lot of work for me.

There are a few creatures that have similar abilities to Alrund that get stronger the more cards you have in hand, like Sturmgeist and Body of knowledge, these function as basically copies of Alrund.

Cards like whispersilk cloak, Prowlers helm, rogues passage help alrund get through, you can also throw empyrial plate onto hakka for a flyer, or just use empyrial plate to buff Alrund quicker if you have evasion.

This deck has a good amount of ramp so you can pump out a lot of card draw spells. The Tutors are good for finding the evasion equipment or protection for Alrund via lightning greaves, Fabricate usually always fetches Alhammarets Archive for me, its a powerful effect for this deck.

There is also a healthy suite of Counterspells and interaction in this deck to protect yourself and your boardstate, feel free to use whatever counterspells you think is best, I just threw some that I had available in, there are definitely better ones available.

This deck is definitely fun, you can power it up in many different ways, its mono blue so infinite shenanigans are on the table, but thats not what I was going for, hope this gives you some ideas if you haven't already built something.
