The idea behind this deck is that it is designed to work with any of the two-color legends in the deck. So before a game, for variety, you can choose one at random, shuffle up, and play.

  • Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch gives creatures you control with +1/+1 counters haste. There is a counters subtheme to the deck.
  • Garna, the Bloodflame gives all of your creatures haste, has flash, and can get you back any creatures put into your graveyard the turn she comes into play.
  • Grenzo, Dungeon Warden enters with counters, and he has a fun, slot-machine ability where you can cheat creatures into play from the bottom of your library (or put them in your graveyard). The deck has several ways to reanimate creatures.
  • Greven, Predator Captain is a sac outlet that draws cards and gets huge. In addition to the deck's reanimation, there are several threaten effects so you can steal your opponents' creatures then sac them.
  • Lyzolda, the Blood Witch can sacrifice creatures, too. If the creature is red, she does 2 damage to any target. If it is black, you draw a card.
  • Neheb, the Worthy makes each player discard a card when he deals combat damage. This works well with the reanimation. He also pumps your minotaurs if you're heckbent. There's one or two others in the deck, but you can also make all your creatures every creature type with Maskwood Nexus.
  • Tymaret, the Murder King is a sac outlet. Also: the king of murder.
  • Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats gives all your creatures deathtouch. He's also a hasty 4/4 flyer, and he's a party payoff. All the creatures in the deck are either warriors, rogues, clerics, or wizards. There are a few other party cards, too.

Another upside of this theme, apart from variety, is that you could also choose a commander based on the power level to adjust to other players. Are they playing highly tuned decks? Try Greven or Zagras. Are they super-casual? Try Exava or Tymaret.

The deck, then, is an aggressive, legends/party/sacrifice/reanimator/counters deck. Looks fun. And it's budget!
