Greven, Predator Captain Discussion

Also Greven, Predator Captain might have a place here as both a large beater and a way to generate card advantage.

If you want to really make Winota sing, the answer is tokens! She can only pull human cards out of your library, so the nonhuman versions of the same aren't pulling as much weight as they could. If you drop something like Dragon Fodder or Raise the Alarm , however, that means two creatures who get to dig for a big, powerful human when they attack! Cards like Spectral Procession and Lingering Souls just up the numbers even more from there. Sure, the tokens probably won't live through combat, but when they're replacing themselves with fatties like Cabal Patriarch , Greven, Predator Captain and Kaervek the Merciless ... well, you probably won't mind too much!

My Hatred for Greven, Predator Captain only makes him stronger...

I joke, of course. He's lots of fun.

Im currently playing Jeska & Kondo EDH. Its fun, though my mana could use a little work.

o so if voltron is on the table Greven, Predator Captain is the deadliest.
it can begin to remove players on turn 2
but it consistently removes players on turn 3
despite his lack of hex proof and indestructible he is the most competitive voltron commander you can get
down side is to build him properly can be expensive.

I am working on an actual in depth explanation of the deck and its combos, but here are a few things:

I don't play with or against competitive decks. This is meant to be a fun deck where I play whatever Tazri gives me.

I have the more expensive lands, but I tend to prefer a good number of basics, so Prismatic Vista and Fabled Passage work for that. The pain lands, like Caves of Koilos are actually an intentional choice as well, both for Eldrazi Displacer and for potentially powering up Greven, Predator Captain and maybe keeping thing interesting with Marchesa, the Black Rose.

Mana Echoes is a core part of the deck. It is used to feed Tazri's ability, and combos with Eldrazi Displacer.

Zur the Enchanter can't cheat those cards out.

The reason I am running Ramunap Excavator is it is a cleric that lets me play what lands do end up in graveyard.

I plan on making lots of changes over time. I may take out some of the other cards you mentioned or try new things out. Tazri doesn't have a lot of decks yet, so I'm basically doing my own thing, seeing if it works.

So I second the inclusion of Greven, Predator Captain (might even be a commander for this deck). Here are a couple other cards to consider: Warstorm Surge, Haktos the Unscarred, Stalking Vengeance and Vicious Shadows.

How about Greven, Predator Captain? It seems to be very much in line with your plans for the deck.
