The idea behind this is to gather as much mana as possible to pay for spells with X in the mana cost. Spells such as Banefire are used to shoot opponents (or their creatures) directly. Cast Apocalypse Hydra for X=5 to unleash a fatty. Pair the burn spells with duplication spells such as Dual Casting or Reiterate to deal double damage.
