How it started: I started with a $20 version of this deck, slowly upgrading it to what it is now. The base of this deck was self mill, trying to cylce through my deck and have Meren pick what cards to bring back. I chose not to prioritize sacrificing and I believe the early versions of this deck struggled because of it.

How it plays now:

Graveyard Resurrection: This deck works its best when it can pluck creatures from the graveyard. Mainly using Meren of Clan Nel Toth, but also utilizing Sheoldred, Whispering One, Summon Undead, and Blood for Bones when Meren can not stay on the field.

Self mill: I am still utilizing self mill as a large component of this deck, the better my options are in the graveyard, the quicker I can win. By using large mill outlets like Deadbridge Chant and Old Stickfingers, but every bit helps so even cards like Eerie Soultender and Underrealm Lich help to get through the deck. The tutor cards also do not have to care if the chosen card goes to the graveyard or the hand so Unmarked Grave and Burning-Rune Demon work great. Birthing Pod is a double win because it chooses a card to the battlefield and works to sacrifice a creature.

Sacrificing: Sacrificing creatures while Meren is out is crucial to get her to pull creatures back to the battlefield instead of to the hand, but there had to be other benefits to creatures being sacrificed.Spore Frog is an amazing fog that can come back every turn if needed, Braids, Arisen Nightmare can either help eliminate opponents creatures or gives a free draw which keeps increasing if playing multiplayer.

Winning Combo: The newest addition to the deck, through using Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest and Scurry Oak infinite combos are able to be achieved. By using a free sacrifice proc like Viscera Seer or Altar of Dementia Mazirek gives +1/+1 counters causing Scurry Oak to create a token, allowing you to sacrifice the token and keep going until you decide to stop. If the Alter is the card being used your opponent instantly gets milled out. Otherwise it just keeps putting +1/+1 counters on creatures to swing for big damage.

This has been an incredibly fun deck for me and I am always looking for ways to improve it. I would love any feedback you are willing to leave!
