This is the first EDH deck I’ve built and I have put the most time into it, adding cards as I go. Full disclosure: I am not a super experienced EDH player, any recommendations/ additions would be greatly appreciated.

This deck is a taxes deck with a twist: instead of taxing mana, this deck taxes life. This deck operates on taxing every possible action opponents take, draining them every step of the way and feeding yourself. This deck has a lot of redundancy built in as well as some alternate win conditions to augment it.

I ended up going with Karlov for the commander as he is a super low cost commander who, when paired with the frequency of life gain in this deck becomes an extremely potent deterrent. You can also ramp up his counters very early and quickly with the right draws allowing you to win using commander damage as well.

I have purposely left out some instant kill combos (coughcough exquisite blood + sanguine bond coughcough) as I feel like they can make the game unenjoyable for people. I don’t want this deck to instantly murder the entire board. I want it to slowly suck them dry.

Here are some of the issues I currently have playing the deck. 1. Politics-wise, this deck tends to be the focus of the entire board and isn’t super effective at dealing with that. 2. Land base + avg CMC, I have a difficult time building enough mana to use this deck effectively (This is where I need the most help) 3. Redundancy/ inefficient cards, this deck could use a lot of cleaning up i think
