Introduction

This is my Jeskai deck that resembles the aspects of Speed and Cunning (Fire and Ice). This deck is built around Ojutai's brood and the Jeskai clan of Tarkir, and most cards in this deck are full of Dragon Monk flavor. This is the best deck I have ever assembled. This deck has extreme synergy between everything that is played, and has so much flavor between the cards and their art. What I love most about this deck is it's ability to go from nothing to dealing 20+ damage out of nowhere. Props to cheesewizcheesewiz for his help.

Creature Types

The creature types in this deck are mostly monks and their Dragon masters that they refer to as the Skywise. Most of these creatures have prowess in some way, and each one excels at combat.

Themes

The major theme of this deck is Combat Prowess. This deck destroys in combat. In fact never threaten these creatures in combat. You will die. lol. Since this deck is Jeskai, there is a lot of synergy in Noncreature Spells. Basically this deck grows in strength from everything that is played in the game.

Strengths

  • Combo decks. This deck acts way too fast for combo decks to get their pieces together.

  • Aggressive decks. Because of all my playtesting there is no deck faster than this deck and unlike most aggo decks, this deck is also designed to dominate in the long-game.

  • Control decks. Again, the speed of this deck is too much for long-game control decks.

Weaknesses

  • High Removal Decks. Most of my cards are low in cmc so decks that I have a lot removal spells can remove the key pieces in this deck. During playtesting I find that this deck struggles against my deck:29-04-18-archangel-of-death deck.

  • Token Decks. While this deck has several answers to token decks, if left unchecked token decks will run you down.

End-Game

The End-Game of this deck is Damage amplifiers and multiple combat phases. This deck is able to have any creature deal 20+ damage out of nowhere with effects that increase damage, give double strike, and create multiple combat phases.

Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest is my commander for several reasons.
  • He is very easy to summon at 3 mana, which adds to the speed of this deck.

  • He has prowess which allows him to grow out of control.

  • He can also give any of your creatures (including himself) double strike for twice the damage.

  • He can also give any other creature your opponents control double strike which can add to some very fun politics at the game table. Even more so (if you have the right cards in your hand) you can give double strike to creatures attacking you which you can then redirect the now doubled damage back at the attacking creature's controller.

These are the cards I use to boost my mana resources. I only use artifacts and instants in this case to add to my creatures prowess abilities.
  1. Azorius Signet

  2. Boros Signet

  3. Izzet Signet

  4. Chromatic Lantern

  5. Sol Ring

  6. Seething Song

  7. Coldsteel Heart

These cards resemble the Foundation of casting noncreature spells as they act as engines that boost my creatures, draw more cards, and stop my opponents' creatures.
  1. Jeskai Ascendancy

  2. Myth Realized

  3. Quiet Contemplation

These are my freeze spells that tap my opponent's creatures and doesn't allow them to untap in the next turn. Very helpful against big creatures and making my creatures unblockable.
  1. Icy Blast

  2. Frost Breath

  3. Glorious End

These are the cards that I use to rid the board of artifacts, enchantments, and creatures.
  1. Cyclonic Rift

  2. Baral's Expertise

  3. Return to Dust

  4. Vandalblast

  5. Divine Reckoning

  6. Shifting Loyalties

These cards are what give my Dragon Monks their strength and skill when they attack or defend. These cards are what help make my creatures unstoppable during combat.
  1. Flying Crane Technique

  2. Taigam's Strike

  3. Distortion Strike

  4. Invigorated Rampage

  5. Artful Maneuver

  6. Center Soul

  7. Artful Dodge

These are my creatures that add more effects whenever I cast an (instant or sorcery) spell or even a noncreature spell. The ability to give more power to every spell I cast helps increase the speed and efficiency of this deck.
  1. Taigam, Ojutai Master

  2. Soulfire Grand Master

  3. Ojutai Exemplars

  4. Monastery Mentor

  5. Niblis of Frost

  6. Sage of the Inward Eye

  7. Mirrorwing Dragon

These spells do 3 things: Double damage that is about to be done, give my creatures double strike, and create extra combat steps.
  1. Dictate of the Twin Gods

  2. Insult / Injury

  3. Savage Beating

  4. Relentless Assault

  5. World at War

These spells either protect me and my creatures by making them indestructible and by deflecting damage back at my opponents. These are the most fun cards to use in this deck.
  1. Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant / Rune-Tail's Essence

  2. Deflecting Palm

  3. Comeuppance

  4. Boros Fury-Shield

  5. Pariah

  6. Silent Arbiter

Suggestions

Updates Add

Yes. My favorite combo to use is whenever a big creature an opponent controls is attacking me, I'll play Deflecting Palm on that creature then activating Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest to give that attacking creature double strike and therefore doubling the damage dealt back at the opponent.
