Largely the deck centers on casting cheap noncombat-damage-engine creatures, amplifying their noncombat damage with things like Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might   andCity on Fire, and within a few turns converting that damage into "mana" with Rakdos, Lord of Riots.

With Lord of Riots and a single damage engine in play, every other creature becomes trivial to cast allowing for higher impact creatures like Kaervek the Merciless or Archfiend of Despair to close out the game . If Lord of Riots is no longer in play, chances are that by that point, burn will have wittled opponents down enough to kill with low CMC creatures.

Black is used almost exclusively for card draw and tutor which keeps a steady supply of creatures in hand for various creature-based ETBs and amplification of damage-engines.
