I'll start with linking the deck in question.

So, I think I built this deck a little wrong. It has more effects of sacrifice than of returning creatures. How do I correct this? However, there's a catch. I need to cards to be budget friendly. I personally cannot afford to go buy a Demonic Tutor or anything like that right now. Please help!!!

I built a nifty golgari sacrifice deck with Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest which ended up being extremely cheap. Why don't you have a look? :)

Hyper-Budget: Life for Death. ($25!)

Dark Petition is a good option for budget and so is Demonic Collusion

Phyrexian Delver is awesome

First off, Tasigur, the Golden Fang's color identity is , so you can't include him in just a deck that's just .

Second, you might be running into problems not just because you don't have enough recur-able creatures, but also because most of the cards in your deck aren't powerful enough to be commander playable (about 70% of them, just at a glance).

Here are some powerful cards on your theme that are still budget:

Bloodsoaked Champion, Dawn of the Dead, Oversold Cemetery, Phyrexian Reclamation, Attrition, Birthing Pod, Ophiomancer, Helm of Possession, Grim Haruspex, Coffin Queen, Butcher of Malakir, Jarad's Orders, Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Eternal Witness, Meren of Clan Nel Toth, Savra, Queen of the Golgari, Creakwood Liege, Deathreap Ritual, Evolutionary Leap, Mimic Vat, Nim Deathmantle, Grim Backwoods, Crypt of Agadeem, Mindslicer, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Fleshbag Marauder, Merciless Executioner, Grave Titan, Big Game Hunter, Corpse Dance, Kessig Cagebreakers, Living Death, and Rise of the Dark Realms.

Some non-budget options that are still worth keeping in mind:

Sheoldred, Whispering One, Greater Good, Phyrexian Arena, Grave Pact, Bloodghast, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Fauna Shaman, and Genesis.

sonnet666, wow, ok. Thank you. Any thoughts on the cards on my maybebiard? Should I include any of them in my deck?

Archfiend of Depravity can be good depending on your playgroup. I don't particularly like it because two good creatures can be more than enough to screw you over (same reason don't like Crawlspace, incidentally).

Catacomb Sifter is ok. However it doesn't generate card advantage, so it's usually one of those creatures you replace as you start upgrading your deck.

Deathbringer Regent is good, but the cast restriction kind of limits it's usefulness in a deck that likes reanimation.

Diabolic Revelation is an ok tutor if you really need tutors on a budget, but there are better options available in a similar price range (Worldly Tutor, Increasing Ambition, Beseech the Queen).

Harvester of Souls is a good source of card advantage. At 6 mana it's a little pricey for what it does, but it's good in a non-competitive deck.

If you typically get the mana to cast it, there's no reason not to include In Garruk's Wake.

Liliana's Reaver is ok for making tokens, but I like Grave Titan a lot more.

Royal Assassin is the king of annoying cards, but I've never actually seen someone play him in commander. In a similar vein, Avatar of Woe might be interesting here if you start milling yourself. Both of them aren't particularly strong when you stack them against Sheoldred, Whispering One, or synergies like Attrition + Ophiomancer.

You better include that foil Swamp. Foil Swamps are not to be trifled with.

Everything else is either meh or outright bad (looking at you, Agent of the Fates. You know what you did...).

Ok. That reminds me, what do you think of a Crypt Ghast in this deck?

Im unsure if you can use it simply because it has extort I think its colour identity is WB but I could be wrong.

This will though

Pestilence

Using it for swamps, not Extort.

Dr.Ache says... #10

Yes, I understand why you want to use it, but in commander you can't use cards that are outside of your commanders colour identity. If the fact he has extort indeed does make him WB in identity, he wouldn't work for you.

Atony1400 says... #11

Oh. OK

December 10, 2015 10:39 a.m.

Dr.Ache please read and research oracle text rulings before saying things like that. Mana symbols in reminder text do not count towards a card's color identity. Thus, cards with Extort can be used in decks without white or black in them, if they have one or the other.

Atony1400 you need to read this too.

Good thought though, definitely worth researching. You might want to try out Fleshbag Marauder and Merciless Executioner they're both pretty good for what you're trying to do I think.

canterlotguardian you did see that I said 'Im UNSURE'. Thank you for so elegantly clarifying though. Your suggested link was helpful in easing my morning coffee down my gullet. Read indeed.

Eeurgh. Coffee is so bad for you. Tea gives you just as much of an energy boost without having to dump a whole bunch of sugar into it just to make it palatable.

Two things.

So I can play Tasigur, the Golden Fang?

And, what about Master of the Feast?

December 10, 2015 11:48 a.m.

Dr.Ache says... #18

Master is cool but you'll find he will die in more unconventional ways than your average creature, plus he gives your opponents a lot of benefit while giving you very little.

You cannot play Tasigur, that is for certain, but just to be sure Im going to summon canterlotguardian because I know how much they enjoy answering these type of questions.

Atony1400 says... #19

Ok.

December 10, 2015 11:58 a.m.

Re Tasigur, the Golden Fang: No. Tasigur has a color identity of BUG, as B is in his mana cost and U/G is in the activation cost of his ability. If you wanted to run Taz as your commander, though, and only run B/G cards in the deck, that's completely fine. You can have less colors than your commander's color identity in your deck, but not more.

Re Master of the Feast: Yes. Master's color identity is straight B. He's good to go. Kind of. Dr.Ache is right. A lot of Standard bomb creatures just don't make the cut in EDH. There's so much more available to you.

Ok, Will have to think aboutbit. I have access to newer cards (from Return to Ravnica to a few BFZ cards), but not much ekse. It's pretty difficult.
