Maybeboard

Hello everyone and welcome to the magical world of modern, where the decks are fast and the wins are even faster. This is my little slice of heaven here when i go to my local FNM's to have fun and slay some people out with planeswalkers.

First i would like to say that some people might find the land base a little scary because they don's see City of Brass or other lands that ping you for a point of damage, that is why i have the filter lands like Rugged Prairie and such to help get those double colors we need. Plus on the bright side it isnt too uncommon to have all four colors out on turn two.

Starters -instant/sorcery-

Damnation Wrath of God Day of Judgment Supreme Verdict Anger of the Gods- All your simple go to board wipe spells to clean the board of any heavy hitting goyfs or delvers

Dig Through Time- Simply to just find an answer or specific planeswalker when the board doesn't seem to go my way.

Thoughtseize and IoK- These are some simple hand removal spells for those pinch games whenever your about to drop some heavy walkers AND to make sure the coast is clear as well.

Lightning Bolt Path to Exile- Main board spot removal for creatures or out of hand creatures that combo off like resto angel and kiki

Esper Charm- This card can come in handy in destroying specific enchants like any leylines slammed down on the field and its use of being able to draw yourself two cards on your opponents turn. Rarely have i ever made my opponent discard spells unless i knew they had cards in hand to win the game or kill on of my planeswalkers

Grixis Charm - I use the bounce ability and the -4 -4 ability most. Yes i know Dismember is a little better, but having that thought of losing 4 life is a little discouraging if we can hit specific colors and the bounce effect is nice since it hits just about everything and including those pesky hard to get lands like Treetop Village and Celestial Colonnade

Izzet Charm- this is a situational card considering i can counter, kills smaller creatures when i cant quite get with how my hand is or draw some extra cards and be able to sculpt my hand to my liking if im a little land heavy.

-Planeswalkers-

Ajani Steadfast- He is my Doubling Season since i dont run green and i find doubling a little hard to get out in how fast the modern format is. Being able to plus get him to seven loyalty is pretty easy with gideon out and he is also a major support in getting a token made from elspeth life link comboing wuth her +3 +3 and flying, His ultimate is great as well since it mitigates all output damage down to one making my planeswalker a lot harder to kill.

Ajani Vengeant- He is plain and simple, take the heavy beaters throwing out damage not allowing them to be of use or killing the situational cards like BoB, Delver or the pyromancer. Destroying all lands is kinda a plus from him, he is really a body shield being able to gain life and kill a creature all in one foul swoop.

Chandra, Pyromaster- She is just one of those simple walkers that kills tokens, pyromancer or delver when things get towards the late game. Being able to exile the top card is nice, but she is more of a simple beater just pinging at my opponents life total.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant- She is a catch all planeswalker since she can produce a chump blocker, give the chump blocker +3 +3 and flying to deal out some damage and making her ultimate even better giving almost everything indestructible.

Gideon Jura- He is the backbone of the deck in keeping my planeswalkers alive. His +1 is just too good to pass up and having everything attack him in preserving my life total and my other planeswalkers. Also being able to swing with him and a 6 / 6 is not bad as well when it calls to go in for a big swing as well.

Jace Beleren He is kinds the outcast of the deck since i usually only -1 hi to draw a card, but usually +1 him when i bring Ensnaring Bridge from the sideboard if i know i can mill my opponents deck to dwindle as many resources as i can. Other than that he is just drawing me cards.

Liliana of the Veil She is the brains of the operation when it comes to heavy hitters on my board. Being able to discard my opponents hard after having jace plus 1 when they are in top deck mode, sacing creature and completely desrtoying there board state if she gets to 6 counters. Liliana is definitely one of the best planeswalkers i have to playw with since she and ajani can protect themselves and gideon taking the beats for them too.
