Hey, nice version of Feather for less than $100 bucks.

Defiant Strike is another instant one drop good card draw with Feather. Sudden Breakthrough, Angelfire Ignition and Blacksmith's Skill are three powerful for their mana costs new budget spells for Feather. Angerfire alone can replace a lot of cards because of so many effects it gives for three mana and flashback is a bonus. Cards Angelfire makes redundant here are Gird for Battle, Desperate Stand, Swift Justice, Sure Strike.

Mavinda, Students' Advocate is nice with instants for Feather letting you cast one on each player's turn from your graveyard and then exile it with Feather. This effect is helpful to cast instants when you don't control Feather to then when you do control Feather get those instants back.

Budget Chain Reaction and more expensive price Blasphemous Act wrecks opponent's creatures and not Feather because you have so much indestructible and color protection. Protection from red prevents damage from Reaction or Act.

Consider more ramp especially staple mana rock Sol Ring? Talisman of Conviction, Star Compass and Sudden Breakthrough will also help with color fixing. Battlefield Forge, Furycalm Snarl and Temple of Triumph are some budget Boros dual lands that could replace a few basic lands.


Some cards to consider cutting are you could cut a few basic lands for more ramp. Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice and Favored Hoplite are the two lesser creatures here. Settle Beyond Reality's effect is not worth five mana at sorcery speed. Martial Glory and Inordinate Rage are subpar pump spells compared to the others here. If you choose to add Angelfire then Gird for Battle, Desperate Stand, Swift Justice, Sure Strike are not really needed.

Thanks for your continued help. I will definitely try taking out my remaining anthem effects for some more ramp. I already have put in Zendikar Resurgent. Do you think I should take out Vanquisher's Banner (as it is an anthem effect but it does provide card draw)? I'll try taking out Selesnya Charm, Swift Justice, Radiant Destiny, Darksteel Ingot and Selesnya Keyrune so I can put in Kodama's Reach (or Cultivate. Is there any difference between the two, apart from a suptype?), Pearl Medallion, Avacyn's Pilgrim, Solemn Simulacrum and Nature's Lore. I will add them in when I get back home

I second multimedia's suggestions. Ramp is huge, especially with the high CMCs you are running here. That's why I suggest cutting your anthems. Cut them for more ramp, and you will not be disappointed. I strongly recommend Zendikar Resurgent, which is both card draw and mana ramp.

Looking over your list, I think Selesnya Charm and Swift Justice should go, too. The charm isn't doing much for you, and Swift Justice is probably not doing that much to help one of your already big creatures. I think Disenchant or Naturalize would be better than Selesnya Charm. I'm on the fence about Primal Command, too. I like that its got several modes to choose from, but they are all kind of "eh?" to me. But if you find it works for you, then great. What does suck about it is its high CMC, which you already have to worry about with your creatures. Another great card for your colors would be Aura Shards. This card is always good, turning any creature you cast into additional value.

Hey, nice beginner Angel Commander deck. I saw your topic in the Commander Help Forum. The cards I'll suggest you cut to make 100 cards are fine cards, but they're not as good as other cards already here. When you get down to the last remaining cards to cut from a Commander deck it's hard, have to make some tough choices, some good cards will be cut. I'll start with the least good Angels and anthems.

Cards to consider cutting (in no order):

Lots of anthem effects that only pump Angels are less needed because Angels already have high power as well as flying. Pumping them with anthems isn't doing much. Lyra is the exception because she's an Angel and her anthem effect gives Angels lifelink which is very good for the strategy here. Skirmisher is another exception, she's also an Angel and can also give Angels lifelink.

I have other suggestions if you're interested. Would you like more suggestions?

That kinda makes sense I guess, but surely something instant speed like Cruel Feeding, Mortal's Ardor or Swift Justice would be better in those slots? It becoming a really round-about Pacifism doesn't seem super useful. Something like Oust could be in those slots.

Some suggestions:1. Cut Gerrard's Verdict for something like Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless.

  1. Cut Swift Justice entirely, you have only four creatures. Add Serra Ascendant and Dismember, Go for the Throat, or Path to Exile.

  2. Add a control package to stall the board a bit. Crawlspace, Stony Silence, Rest in Peace, and Ghostly Prison in varying amounts can be helpful here.

  3. Add a finisher, like Blood Baron of Vizkopa, Karlov of the Ghost Council, or Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts.

  4. Remember to change your format.

As an aggro deck, I don't see lifelink being all that useful very often. That being said, I would swap the Swift Justices for Ethereal Armor which would often grant more power bonus in the mid to late game also. Personally I would also MD the Cartouche of Solidarity for the Defiant Strikes to get more out of the Ethereal Armor and again for a more permanent power increase. But drawing an extra card is often also nice.

if you can, maybe go to 4x Swift Justice and lose Mortal's Ardor, because the first strike makes your main attackers (Nest Robber, Raptor Companion) even more effective.
