Hello, I am Sheld and this is my Izzet spellslinger deck.

The deck is focused on burn, copying, big spells, big-mana synergies, and occasional big-power synergies.

The deck is meant to be flavorful and casual-friendly instead of necessarily being as powerful as possible.

This deck originated from my very first EDH deck! It started with the Mizzix precon, then I switched to Zaffai when he came out, and finally I've converged to the promo Melek commander. I've rebuild the deck countless times during the years in order to make it fun to play (against), interactive, and less repetitive.

As mentioned, the deck is very casual. For this reason, some particular cards and effects had to be excluded, as they were too powerful. Such cards/effects include;

• ANY extra turns (It does not better how "bad" the particular extra turn is. It is always too powerful with spell copying.)

• Bonus Round, Cyclonic RiftGC, Chandra's Ignition (These cause out-of-the-blue wins too easily.)

• Molten Psyche (Is too strong in combination with Storm King's Thunder)

• instant/sorcery tutors (These are not problematic because of power-level, but make the deck significantly more repetitive.)

Excluding these cards/effects avoids unexpected wins and ensures that the opponents have an opportunity to interact with the game plan of the deck. (For example, depending on powerful enhancers like Double Vision and Twinning Staff enables much more interaction from the opponents than winning off Bonus Round.)
