Why not just draw your deck...

This deck is built around drawing your deck by cycling through it as quickly as possible by running as many cards with cycling as reasonably possible combined with ways to reduce cycling costs and/or make cycling mana natural/positive.

This list is bracket 1, but could easily go up with the inclusion of GCs like demonic Tutor and Enlightened tutor for some added consistency, or throwing in Decree of Annihilation to allow you to destroy everyone's lands for "free"

Who would want to play this deck? Show

Pros:

• Draws a lot of cards every game

• Is super budget for a 5 color deck

• Other decks tend to have trouble interacting with us (cycling and cycling triggered effects can't be countered except by Stifle effects)

Cons:

• Really hates Narset, Parter of Veils and her ilk

• Shuffles a lot more than expected

• Can be repetitive in it's win con, but still has good resiliency to pull off its secondary win when necessary.

Neuteral:

-This deck focuses on building an advantage through synergies. It does have 1 combo (that I'll explain later in the Primer), but it is very convoluted and has so many moving parts, the deck has usually won or lost before it can be assembled.

Why Kenrith? Show

Kenrith is Ideal for the following reasons in roughly this order of importance:

1. 5 colors: Being 5 colors allows us to run the best cycling cards, ANY/ALL the cycling lands, and the best cycling matters cards.

2. He draws cards: Feels really bad when New perspectives hits, but it doesn't quite get us to the 7 cards in hand necessary to trigger its relavant effect.

3. He reanimates creatures. Sometimes we really need that blocker, but more often its to get back Bone Miser, Laboratory Maniac or an early cycled Cloud of Faeries.

4. He provides a source of haste if we need to go the beat-down route.

5. his other 2 abilities are sometimes relevant.

6. He has strong politicking potential.

How do we win? Show

Strategy 1 is to cycle into more cycling synergy until we are generating more resources by cycling than it costs to cycle so that we can eventually play Lab man then continuing to draw until we win.

Strategy 2 is to cycle into cards like Bone Miser, Ominous Seas, and/or Drannith Stinger then continuing to cycle to generate a board state to overwhelm and kill our opponents through combat.

The combo Show

Step 1: Set up Cycling costs need to be free/reduced, which means we want New Perspectives, but Fluctuator works too

Step 2: Manna generation Escape Protocol being necessary down the line, the easiest way to generate mana is to play Cloud of Faeries and then pay the 1 to blink it when we cycle to untap the land we paid the cost to blink her and 1 other. We must be able to generate black mana, and green mana makes our life much easier. Otherwise we can make do with Bone Miser and a 2+ lands that cycle (specifically cycle for (2) if using Fluctuator )

Step 3: Generate tokens Bone Miser is slightly more efficient, but Ominous Seas works too.

Step 4: Don't deck yourself! The cycle of creatures that basic land type cycle for either basic land of their colors (Pale Recluse and others) won't actually draw you cards, so cycling them to trigger Escape Protocol and Miser/Seas is the easiest way to not deck yourself. If we can generate green manna, we can cast repopulate to shuffle all the creatures in our grave into our library to draw over and over again.

Step 5: Shadow of the grave cast Shadow of the Grave to be able to keep cycling over and over.

Step 6: Cast/Blink card:Archeomancer to get back Shadow of the Grave (and Repopulate as needed)

Seemingly Unusual Card Choices Show

Ravnica Bouncelands (Azorius Chancery ): These lands play a key role in helping us keep cards in hand so we are more likely to be able to trigger New perspectives, allowing us to bounce cycle-able lands to then continue cycling, and they allow us to generate extra value from Cloud of Faeries, especially when combined with Escape Protocol

Amulet of Vigor : helps negate the fact that so many of our lands inherently enter tapped.
