Wilson - Big Bear - Token Fodder

"Feed Meeeeeeeeee..."

Budget: tcgplayer avg. price ~ $50

 T1 >> Dork or Fodder
 T2 >> Wilson
 T3 >> Cultist and EITHER A.)Sac Fodder OR B.)Combat Trick/Voltron Piece
T4 >> Sac Fodder AND Combat Trick/Voltron Piece
T5+ >> Look for ways to refill hand, reach critical mass, and Win through Commander damage.

NOTE: Deal with the board BEFORE worrying about suiting up. Remember Wilson has Ward 2. Attack deliberately, and make use of the Evasion. Don't be afraid to sac your mana dorks. 5 mana is the magic number. Communicate clearly to the table so that no one becomes tilted; the deck should play itself.

Elves: Arbor Elf, Elves of Deep Shadow, Elvish Mystic, Fyndhorn Elves, Llanowar Elves

The Elf package was chosen because we want a critical mass of one drop creatures and tokens for sacrifice and these offer a body if needed, but also ramp us in the mean time. Elves of Deep Shadow is nice because it fixes for black, which is super important for curving out.

Other Dorks: Ilysian Caryatid, Arboreal Grazer

These were chosen for the same reason as above, except, Ilysian Caryatid will often tap for 2, and Arboreal Grazer puts a land straight onto the battlefield, which is even better for our gameplan than the average dork. Def one of the best t1 plays if you have 4 lands in hand.

Eldrazi Spawn: Pawn of Ulamog, Carrier Thrall, Eldrazi Repurposer

These creatures follow the sac gameplan (SEE SAC FODDER) while also adding some flexibility to how the tokens can be used. I would rather have an Eldazi Spawn than a 2/2 Zombie any day of the week.

Spell Based: Traverse the Outlands, Bushwhack

Traverse the Outlands will consistently fetch 5 basics for 5 and that is practically the ground floor for this card's potential. In the limited testing I have done, this card, especially if cast with Rishkar's Expertise, is a bomb that will all but win you the game on the spot.

Fast Mana: Mark of Sakiko, Bear Umbra

Both of these cards use the combat phase to produce large amounts "fast" mana. Bear Umbra is by far the best, as it does NOT require combat damage, and the totem armor and +2 just fit perfectly into the rest of the deck. But Mark of Sakiko is still strong and can be used as soon as it hits the battlefield to refill on mana or get to the magic number 5 (all the hand refills are 5 mana).

Spell Based: Rishkar's Expertise, Soul's Majesty, Hunter's Prowess, Return of the Wildspeaker, Hunter's Insight

All five care about Wilson's power, and will act as our means to refill our hand. Hunter's Prowess and Hunter's Insight both require hitting face, but it with the former having a Giant Growth stapled on, so that ain't bad.

Aura Based: Keen Sense, Sixth Sense, Snake Umbra

These three draw a card when we deal combat damage, with Snake Umbra also providing some protection.

Other: Colossal Majesty, Deathreap Ritual, Morbid Opportunist

These are less splashy, more consistent draw, that don't use combat. I wanted to stay away from aristocrats type gameplay but I think that turning a required sac into an extra card every turn is a good deal. Colossal Majesty is very consistent but I don't love it.

Fight(Single Target): Bushwhack, Ent's Fury, Barroom Brawl, Ancient Animus, Szat's Will, Bridgeworks Battle  , Astarion's Thirst, Fell the Profane

Since Wilson will have deathtouch, fight spells effectively read as "destroy target creature". For pesky/larger creatures, look for Astarion's Thirst, Fell the Profane  , or Beast Within, and if they have Indestructible or Hexproof, the out is Szat's Will.

Board Wipe: Toxic Deluge, Nuclear Fallout

These 2 were chosen because they both are X spells and can be tuned in order for the board wipes to break parity.

Noncreature-Removal: Collective Resistance, Ruinous Intrusion, Beast Within

A bit light on non-creature removal, but a couple modal that target enchantments and artifacts and Beast Within which is a green staple.

Graveyard Hate: Szat's Will

An amazing graveyard removal tool that hits everyone and makes a bunch of tokens.

Attachables:Bear Umbra, Blanchwood Armor, Boar Umbra, Giant Inheritance, Mark of the Vampire, Necrosynthesis, Snake Umbra, Blackblade Reforged, Bone Sabres, Fireshrieker, Gavel of the Righteous, Inquisitor's Flail, Hunter's Insight, Sadistic Glee

The meat and potatoes of this deck. Every card in this list adds to Wilsons size in some way. There are two doublestrike eneablers as well as Inquisitor's Flail which doubles damage. Giant Inheritance and Bone Sabres are quick ways of beefing up, and the Umbras provide protection. The commander is already keyword soup but Mark of the Vampire provides the much needed lifelink.

+1 Counters: Ent's Fury, Ancient Animus, Astarion's Thirst, Gaea's Gift, Hunger of the Howlpack, Ruinous Intrusion, Snakeskin Veil, Necrosynthesis, , Bone Sabres, Revitalizing Repast

Many spells in this list have the side effect of adding a +1 counter. This is intended to squeeze every drop of value out of the mana being spent. Want to kill a creature? Might as well make out commander bigger while we are at it. Same goes for pretty much any effect. Hunger of the Howlpack is a very efficient buff spell that just straight up will add 3 counters most times. Sadistic Glee, and Necrosynthesis passively give counters when creatures die, and are great when played early.

Pump: Bridgeworks Battle  , Hunter's Prowess, Phytoburst, Luxurious Libation, Return of the Wildspeaker, Tyvar's Stand

Most of these spells you will be using in conjunction with their other effects, but the principle is all the same: make bear big. Tyvar's Stand gives nice protection, Bridgeworks Battle   fights, and Hunter's Prowess Draw's cards.

Protection: Collective Resistance, Gaea's Gift, Snakeskin Veil, Tyvar's Stand, Bear Umbra, Boar Umbra, Snake Umbra, Revitalizing Repast

Totem armor is incredibly important in this deck, but just as important are the 4 instant speed protection spells. All of them offer a little something extra as well, and are very synergistic. Snakeskin Veil and Revitalizing Repast   are both great at only one mana.

Creates a token on death: Blisterpod, Carrier Thrall, Dripping-Tongue Zubera, Eldrazi Repurposer, Nested Shambler, Nezumi Linkbreaker, Pawn of Ulamog, Tukatongue Thallid

Rises from the dead: Bloodsoaked Champion, Persistent Specimen, Reassembling Skeleton

As seen in the Ramp tab above, there is also a collection of 1 drop that dorks and as well as a few creatures that grab a land on etb/death. These creatures are meant to be sac'd as well.

Spell-based Tokens: Szat's Will, Luxurious Libation
