Built on the synergy between Gorm and Virtus. Redundancy for Gorm's lure effect make bad attacks into good ones, redundancy for Virtus in Raving Dead, Quietus Spike, and other payoffs for unimpeded attacks - Ashling the Extinguisher, Ohran Viper, Throat Slitter, Vraska's Assassin tokens. Other creatures focus on ETB effects, disincentivizing removal, and reducing the deck's on-board threat presence. ETB creatures also make good fodder for Grim Backwoods, Deathreap Ritual, and other sac/morbid payoffs.

I think running out Gorm before Virtus is important, as Virtus is very threatening and very easy to remove. Gorm is a good blocker, but not a threatening card, even after he starts abyssing an opponent's cheap utility creatures. When some protection (like whispersilk cloak) or blocking deterrents (like Viridian Claws) come out, then cast Virtus and equip him up. Even if Virtus is subsequently removed, Gorm tends to stay in play and deter attacks.
