Emblem of the Warmind Discussion

SQUID-MAGIC on Goblin´s poolparty and BBQ

I've got a few suggestions for your deck. But before I say anything, I wanna say great job! Some cards that would fit great in here are Goblin War Drums, Dragon Throne of Tarkir, and Emblem of the Warmind as a cheaper and more efficient Haste enabler. I don't have a Krenko Commander Deck, But I do have a Krenko, Mob Boss/Marrow-Gnawer deck. You can go check out some other cards that might fit in the deck there.

34 lands seems low, and I'm always wary of running the bounce lands alongside that many tap lands. With a budget manabase I'd probably ease off the costs like Mayael's Aria and Naya Charm also.

Rather than Midnight Guard + Elemental Mastery/Presence of Gond I'd run Siona, Captain of the Pyleas for the Shielded by Faith combo (+ Emblem of the Warmind, probably) as the pieces are independently more useful.

I'd also work on reducing your CMCs across the board (particularly if you want to stick to 34 lands). Spellbreaker Behemoth could be Destiny Spinner and Runes of the Deus could be Temur Battle Rage and Winds of Rath could be Gravitic Punch, for example.

Are things like Silence, Gaddock Teeg and Shalai, Voice of Plenty a meta choice? In my experience, Uril benefits most from being able to kill 1 or 2 players as quickly as possible (rather than trying to control the board).

I'd focus on enchantment ramp (à la Wild Growth, Wolfwillow Haven, Overgrowth and Sheltered Aerie) over the artifact ramp and things like Rampant Growth. This could be supplemented with things like Arbor Elf, Voyaging Satyr and Blossom Dryad.

To my mind, if things like Ancestral Mask, Soul's Majesty and Rishkar's Expertise are working out, it's because you're already winning. I'd rather run things like Gryff's Boon, Messenger's Speed and Madcap Skills - I'd also work on reducing the overall CMC of your enchantments.

I'd switch Winds of Rath out for Gravitic Punch.

I'd also think about adding something else you can win with (if Uril becomes uncastable or is otherwise removed). Fleecemane Lion could carry a handful of aura's. Alternatively, Siona, Captain of the Pyleas + Shielded by Faith with Emblem of the Warmind or Fires of Yavimaya.

To my mind, Siona, Captain of the Pyleas should be accompanied by Shielded by Faith (and probably Emblem of the Warmind), and Bear Umbra by Hellkite Charger.

Boros Charm and Temur Battle Rage / Psychotic Fury should be considered for finishers.

Kessig Wolf Run is also worth running.

I'd rather Beast Within / Generous Gift than Acidic Slime.

I'd probably rather Snake Umbra than Boar Umbra.

Blackheart426 Thank you very much, that's kind of you! Emblem of the Warmind I had considered but didn't like because although it's a wider enchantment, it still relies on being an aura. Fervent Charge was just a little too much in mana cost for my taste and with the card draw, there's a good chance I'll have a better equipment for around the same cost. Fervor is an excellent suggestion though! I'm gonna include it with the maybe and I'll likely switch it in if my meta gets a little more aggressive and I need them to swing faster. :)

Great Deck! I love it! You might want to throw in Fervor or Emblem of the Warmind to get everyone swinging faster. I've also seen Fervent Charge end a game or two, might be good in the old sideboard. Keep it up!

redundancy is important, and i do like the curve of first turn Mass Hysteria , second turn Blind Obedience , its definitely got my friends giving me annoyed looks. I, personally, would not run Emblem of the Warmind , while it is low costed, an aura is a little more fragile than a strait up enchantment. At least a Fervor wont abandon you to a board wipe T_T.

Depending on your deck and how many slots you have open, redundancy is important if want an effect to go off. If haste-y aggro and slowing your opponent is the main strat of your deck, I could see running all the cards you mentioned. Mass Hysteria > Emblem of the Warmind IF Authority of the Consuls or Blind Obedience is out. Otherwise, I'd take emblem of the warmind since it won't help your opponent. Likewise, Blind Obedience is probably better in a vacuum since it also hits artifacts (slowing down their rocks and the like) while also giving you extort to sink mana into if need be. Both those cards are 2-drops though, but I personally think the extra mana is worth it. Though, if you have a lot of triggers for "when you gain life" authority of the consuls might be better to get all those triggers.
