Before the Doomed Traveler’s trigger goes on the stack, SBA’s are checked and see that Crusader of Odric has 0 toughness, so he dies. Then SBA’s are checked again and see that Ballynock Cohort now has 0 toughness and it dies as well. Then SBA’s are checked again, seeing nothing else, the game then puts the waiting trigger on the stack.

I guess I am just a little unclear on how often and with what timing some state-based actions are checked.
Let's say my opponent has a Crusader of Odric, a Ballynock Cohort, a Doomed Traveler and a couple of soldier tokens. Rightly enough, I play Infest. The question is, what's left after the dust settles?
I'm aware that:
-Crusader of Odric survives as long as at least two other creatures do.
-Ballynock Cohort will survive so long as one other creature does.
-Doomed Traveler won't survive, but will spawn a creature to replace itself upon dying.
This would all be pretty clear-cut if not for the Traveler, basically. Will the token come back in time to save the Cohort, and thus the Crusader? Or will they die from having 0 toughness before the token can save them?

Looks like a creature-aggro deck. You want to be bustin' balls by turn three with creatures in modern, so you might want to minimaze over cmc 4 stuff.
A few cards you might find usefull: Elite Vanguard, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Consul's Lieutenant, Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit, Porcelain Legionnaire, Field Marshal, Veteran Swordsmith, Preeminent Captain, Ballynock Cohort
Condemn - is a sweet and cheap alternative to Path to Exile

Ballynock Cohort isn't too hot. I'd go with 4x Loyal Cathar Flip. Very good in white weenie to give the deck reach. That would also bring the mana curve down considerably.
2-4x Kor Skyfisher is almost a must for weenie. Works nicely with Icatian Javelineers, too. I'd probably take out some Veteran Armorsmith for it. Not sure about 6x Lawkeepers that tap. Plus you already have 3x Javelineers.
3x Cenn's Enlistment looks a bit much. But I can see your really pushing to spread the board. I'd also look at Guardians' Pledge over Kjeldoran War Cry. Pledge is cool though and cheaper. However, War Cry is a house either way. I think it's how you want your mana curve to look like in the end.
