Torqued up the deck (Mana Drain, Force of Will, Mana Crypt, etc) and added meta cards (cursed totem).

Funny thing about being the fun police is that captain Brago tends to be a hate magnet, so I'm taking out Consulate Surveillance for Swiftfoot Boots.
big change...sorta lol

why didnt i think of this. eggs not only healthy but useful in killing opponent and smoothing draws a little. gonna try to get 4 of each possibly and sort the numbers from there but we are trying the chromatic star and chromatic sphere eggs to see if they can help smooth us out. edit edit: instead went to conjurer's for lower total cmc to use and still get the draw.

2-0 Grixis Death Shadow
Won 1st Game by out-Grinding my opponent, eventually killing his 2x Death's Shadow (around 5/5 each) then finshing with Syphon Life spamm.
Won 2nd sideboarded +2x Raven's Crime ,opponent mullied to 5 , emptied his hand and went for the Kill.
1-2 Prowess Mardu Control ???
Won 1st Game easily by controlling the board.
Lost 2nd Game because of Rakdos Charm when i was empty handed. Then got Bolted 2-3 times on head.Had mullied to 5.
Lost 3rd Game because Crumble to Dust > my 2x Crypt of Agadeem turn 2.(lost all lands on field that way).Tried to comeback but i had lost 2 much tempo.Had mullied to 5.
2-1 Aggro Dredge
Won 1st Game because i assembled my Combo faster than my opponent could throw creatures.
Lost 2nd Game cause he ramped over me(no green mana to play Loam's).
Won 3rd Game,Bojuka Bog on Turn2 locked his opening so i had time to setup my Combo.
Also from my online games the deck does great vs Creature Decks but lacks vs Combo Decks and Lightning Helix (removing Haakon and gaining Life is too much value for my opponent).
Adding more Aggro Elements and will test on increasing lands because i hate keeping 1-land hands.

UPDATE LOG : 4/14/17 Trying to think of *what* to swap Neonates for Their Menace / ability to smack is super duper coolio. However, I could stand to swap them. Sideboard comes when I balance the Neonate's and card ratios.

Many, many changes have been made, focusing on tech cards for my local metagame (rule of law, cursed totem), getting more consistent lands and card draw

-1 Skeletal Vampire - Yet another cut to slim our curve for quicker plays. I'm basically conceding that I'll have to take out these cool and expensive token-makers in exchange for more interaction earlier in the game.
-1 Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest - As a similar assertion, I'm cutting more of the cute and fun cards of the deck that play with getting us more counters. If I want to make a more casual version of this list I plan on revisiting these cards of course, but on their own they just creature +1/+1 counters which is pretty bad.
-1 Mikaeus, the Lunarch - Read above.
-1 Forgotten Ancient - Read above.
+1 Anointed Procession - I will take another copy of Parallel Lives any day! Although we don't have Doubling Season as of now, the fact that we have the aforementioned two enchantments plus Primal Vigor makes me feel rather confident of our deck's ability to mirror it since we don't rely on planeswalkers or other ways Doubling Season is better than the other doubler-enchantments.
+1 Butcher Ghoul - Good early game undying value creature is good.
+1 Animate Dead - The deck has a limited number of ways to recover combo engines and such, and this is a relatively inexpensive way to get the train moving along again.
+1 Birds of Paradise - No one can beat the Birds. I'm thinking about moving dorks back into this deck because, while they are susceptible to removal and thus fold to land ramp in some scenarios, creatures are just a generally more-abuse-able card type for the deck and dorks also act as great and efficient mana acceleration that doesn't actively harm our probabilities of hitting land drops, like sorcery/instant-based land ramp effects do.

Swapped Runed Halo for Nevermore. Also thinking about using Aura of Silence. It covers more ground than vanilla art/ench hate. It costs more, yes, but slows down Affinity by a bunch and allows us to blow it up to get rid of relevant threats.
Major Changes
maribakumon, 8 years ago
I hadn't recorded the changes to the deck in a while, but fixing the list here I see that 27 of the previous cards have been replaced. I changed the number of basic lands to better help with color fixing, I added more ramp, and I added some graveyard recursion. There are also now better win conditions, such as Triumph of the Hordes to push 10 poison counters, and Epic Struggle to win by just existing.

I will add these to the actual list once all the cards are up on T/O. Please let me know if I missed anything!

It's Time To Party!
Liquidbeaver, 8 years ago
I'm so happy that everyone has loved this deck so much! It has been awesome so far.
In just the short time this deck has been on TappedOut it has already shot to the #2 spot for Ib decks in both views and upvotes, second only to the infallible Ib +99 Mountains deck.
Not only that, we got all the way to the Top Ten Overall for the day on April 11th! That is just fantastic.
To celebrate, Ib is throwing a party, and there ain't no party like an Ib Halfheart party 'cuz an Ib Halfheart party has...
MASS LAND DYSFUNCTION AND STAX!
We've traded out some of our cuter cards (ILU4EVA Liquimetal Coating!) for some meaner stuff, because Ib hates when other inferior commanders win without sacrificing any Goblins to do so!
To pull this off we are adding 69% more STAX and 131% more Land Destruction in the form of....
Price of Glory (and possibly Defense Grid as well)
Skred (maybe)
And if my math is correct that puts us at 200% more explosive games!
There will be a lot of minor tweaks coming in the next few days, as I get Ib settled into his new position on top of his new smoldering heap.
Stay tuned, and thanks for reading!

was able to bring the count of the deck down to 100, just in time to find more cards that fit the theme and curve. i've been playtesting the deck a lot, and am surprised by how aggressive the deck can be due to its low curve, and the ability to recast Bontu for cheap. It's still a work in progress and would love more suggestions of cuts and adds!Ongoing play

While I haven't had a chance to test this against Cat Combo, this deck plays highly favorably against the other Tier 2 Standard decks and can fight Mardu, though it seems to be a turn too slow in many matches. What it does do well against Mardu is forcing trades. Trading against Mardu is often the best strat as getting to T4 with a Hydra on the field usually is the nail in the coffin against it, and Mardu often stumbles getting Gideon in play with the WW costs. all the previous turns of trading you efficient beaters for theirs means Hydra is hitting against a relatively open board and then you can pump him to oblivion and finish the match.
still haven't decided where I like the removal to sit, as at first I wasn't too keen on Fatal Push in th MB since I had very little in the way of Revolt, BUT realizing that it was the best card I had against Heart if Kiran quickly shook up my initial build. I'm most likely just going to swap the Harness Lightning for the Pushes, putting the Lightning to the SB and keeping Push MB.
I'm looking at pulling the Pummelers out and replacing them with Ballista, as it favors against Cat Combo and also lets me at times put a trick on the Ballista, blow all the counters off and it still lives for a turn to block.
the real MVP other than Hydra is actually Arlinn Kord. She is a massive closer for me in a every match she shows up. The trick is playing her correctly, which many players get in the trap of and think she's bad. She's NOT there to be a bolt, she's there to be an Over Run. Play her, make a Token, next turn +1 to give the field trample and a pump. If you aren't sitting on a wide field, her front half still lets Brawlers and Hydras take massive chunks out of the opponent while still being up for Defense.
Looking forward, there are a lot of cards in Amonkhet that I want to test: Combat Celebrant Champion of Rhonas Soul-Scar Mage Manglehorn Battlefield Scavenger Flameblade Adept Fling! Samut, Voice of Dissent

Add a sideboard with a variety of "wrath", from low CMC for everybody, to high CMC for opponents... and Descend upon the sinful for eldrazi titans, etc Vandalblast if I play against an artefact based deck Mob rule for help Alesha during the fight Relentless Assault for a second combat phase, so more ETB effects, and sometimes faster win Painful truths because the card was in my binder

I know it's a little overdue, but it was the last time I played competitively. I was life at x2 going into the last two rds, and then lost a questionable game to a questionable opponent playing elves. He was being closely watched by judges and may have been cheating. Not really sure. Annyway, the experience was basically good overall. I had a particularly fun game vs a burn player who went x1 into day 2. I was the one. I actually had to fetch a t4 platinum emotion with a forecaster with double death triggers from a Sulfuric Vortex on the stack. Had a lucky g1 vs eldrazi , too. Obviously was kinda messed up as was she bc we have so many dead cards g1, but she swing out at me and left the board open with only a lightning greaves on the board. Thankfully I had a factory in hand and drew into a metalworker allowing my blightsteel to swing for lethal poison with me at life facing down lethal the next turn. A great experience, with my only losses before the last rounds to an unlucky g3 vs BUG delver, and an opponent who was a quick learn, and a storm player who knew I was on colorless lockout who t1 storm killed me g1 and g3.
Second deck to 2000!
Sleazebag, 8 years ago
Holy shit guys, we made it! 2000! The Mikaeus deck is the second deck on Tappedout to reach 2000 likes, just barely beating out that Island deck, you know the one. Guess we have it confirmed now, Mikaeus is officially more busted than Islands. It's been a long journey to 2k, and my Mikaeus deck has seen better days, mostly because of how stupidly expensive Mikaeus himself is now. Please WotC, REPRINT HIM! Make Mikaeus budget again! I've been considering changing the name of the deck for some time, but I decided not to, even though it is now closer to $40 than $20. Mainly because of how long it has had the name and how iconic it is to the "$20 EDH" deck challenge that has sprouted up on tappedout over the years. (That, and when I got Mikaeus, he was a couple of bucks!) Thanks for the support everyone. Oh, and we also hit 350,000 views the same day, that's kinda cool.
Newest Editions!

The newest additions to the Breya Crew are :Ugin's Nexus, which i couple with my copy artifact spells for extra turns. Clever Impersonator, which can become Panharmonicon or and extra turn/just good stuff. Master of Etherium for my mass token anthem and being just a big body himself. All in all I feel that the deck runs smoother and with more purpose than ever before!

Trying to lower my mana curve and test some cards.
-In
Void Winnower(I've been eyeing this card in a while now so I'm giving it a try.)
Abrupt Decay(Trying this instead of Maelstrom Pulse, I'm not sure how it will work in my meta.)
Nature's Claim(in place of Krosan Grip)
Chrome Mox(More ramp to survive under Winter Orb/Contamination, although it's a nonbo with Null Rod.)
High Market(I needed another sac outlet for Mindslicer.)
