Why do any other Rakdos commander when Kaervek does it all for you. He IS the burn. Shoot opponent's spells back at their face. If we need, blow up a guy or walker...or battle now? Kaervek might cost a bit in the mana department but we have 99 other card slots, about 25% of that is devoted to ramping him out. The ramp will aid in our other costly spells, dropping some of the best burn in town!

We can attach Basilisk Collar and Phyresis to him for extra spice and imminent death to some. Protecting him should be a snap with our access to the fine suite of R/B counterspells, ubiquitous boots and greaves. Kaya's Ghostform is a must, especially with the increase in exiling capabilities.

At the end of the day, why worry about removing permanents when you can remove players at their expense.
