Oh Captain, My Captain

Commander / EDH

TheTman92

You ramp up the early game into a toolbox combo.

As far as the toolbox of the deck goes you should find solutions for next to anything you could encounter. The most important way to play this deck is to avoid the Legendary creatures that draw you cards unless your opponent manages to remove your commander or your combo pieces. If you were to draw some of the Legendary cards they won't be able to be grabbed at instant speed with Sisay, Weatherlight Captain which greatly hinders your toolbox responses. If you do draw something you want to cast at an instant speed you will want to use Sisay, Weatherlight Captain to grab Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage, or Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir.

Another important thing to track is the colors of your Legendary cards so you can continue to grab every card you could want. Waiting to active Sisay, Weatherlight Captain till it's almost your turn is the only way to play this deck. Remember to prioritize protecting your board over actualizing your combos.

Activating Sisay, Weatherlight Captain multiple times in a row is the most important goal, Dynaheir, Invoker Adept + Illusionist's Bracers + Jegantha, the Wellspring are paramount to success.

You will need Jodah, the Unifier to grab most of your important Legendary cards from your deck which is why the Toolbox setup is incredibly important to control and protect your board and yourself till you can win without any issues.

As far as the combos go: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter when used correctly will board wipe anything you can target, and with the addition of Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter When you infinitely sacrifice Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter you will kill all your opponents at the same time.

Old Gnawbone + Urabrask the Hidden Grabbing both of these at the same time results in combat that will give you an abundance of Treasure Tokens which will allow you to active Sisay, Weatherlight Captain multiple times to grab combos or to toolbox your way out of a tight situation.

Dynaheir, Invoker Adept + Jegantha, the Wellspring Grabbing these cards together will set you up to Toolbox or Combo in an overwhelming manner.

Academy Ruins + Mindslaver Allows you to steal someone's turn indefinitely. Putting Mindslaver on top of your deck with Academy Ruins will let you activate Sisay, Weatherlight Captain to put Mindslaver into play for 1 less mana. You can also mix Mindslaver + Muldrotha, the Gravetide to achieve the same goal of repeatedly stealing someone's turn.
