Sideboard

Maybeboard

Triggers, Triggers, Triggers. This deck is all about synergy. The primary engine is the interaction between Champion of the Parish, Thalia's Lieutenant , & Norin the Wary. With each human hitting the board counters galore are handed out like candy. Norin the Wary pops in and out at least once each player's turn, triggering both. Hardened Scales of course doubles those counters. Knight of the White Orchid triggers the two counter creators and fetches mana and Hanweir Militia Captain   both triggers counters as well as growing with each creature and as an added bonus creates more humans to trigger the counters with each turn. Soul Warden & Auriok Champion likewise triggers and creates lifegain, if only to counteract the life lost to Mana Confluence & shock lands. Dark Confidant & Mentor of the Meek trigger as well as provide card draw, even on my opponent's turn, should I have mana to spend. All these creatures with counters begs to take advantage of the Outlast mechanic and Abzan Falconer is included to either allow me to swing over my opponent or fight back against pesky Angels decks. Gideon's Lawkeeper provides a one-drop human that triggers as well being an answer for Emrakul, the Aeons Torn - a popular ultimate weapon for the current meta. Because it's an ability and not a spell, Emrakul hits the board and I spend one mana to tap it, thus avoiding the damage and annihilator cost. Westvale Abbey   gives an alternate win-condition as well as giving me another method for creating human tokens that trigger the counters engine. Collected Company, though not crucial, provides a ramp for getting the humans out quicker. The removal package is not extensive, but includes Celestial Purge primarily for Nahiri, the Harbinger, Liliana of the Veil, Chandra, Torch of Defiance, etc. and Abrupt Decay as a catch all for any bothersome enchantments or artifacts, such as the always aggravating Chalice of the Void set to one. One copy of Raging Ravine is a good late-game closer, especially coupled with Hardened Scales.

Sideboard: Though not a human, three copies of Eidolon of Rhetoric are a must to answer against Ad Nauseam, Living End, Storm, etc. Crumble to Dust is my hoser for land-based decks - Tron, Valakut, etc. Leyline of Sanctity of course for Burn & 8-Rack. Rest in Peace to hose Dredge. Stony Silence is my Affinity answer, and two copies of Wear / Tear help out with those rogue enchantments and artifacts that always seem to find their way to piss me off.
