DAUTHI TRIBAL

Shadow is my favorite flavor next to infect. I have always wanted to build a mono black deck. When I was in high school I used to play (late 90's). I remember faintly having a shadow deck. I can see it like it was yesterday. Dauthi Slayer coming out of the nothingness winning me the game. I wish there were more shadow creatures in mono black, but there aren't. This deck has them all. I realize that I could have gone with white and black thus filling the list to the brim.

But, no... it had to be mono black. It just had to be for old time sake.

This build started off a lot different. It started off as of a Voltron build with the idea of having the shadow creatures cause the swords to trigger. But, after much play, this deck has become something much greater. This is by far my favorite deck. It demolishes in single player and holds strong in multi-player midgame.

The primary item to tutor for in this 1v1 build would be Hatred for the overkill. Nothing like having a 1/1 take half your life total with Quietus Spike. Another good one to grab would be something like No Mercy. It averages a turn 4 to 6 win if you happen to snatch up a tutor card.

With Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor as the commander, the idea is to draw a lot with his first ability.

I have to say, this deck does a really great job dishing out damage in a multi-player group setting although it is meant for 1v1. With the card draw, it can hold its own in a 3 to 4 player game. The few blockers that are available keep you floating mid game against attrition based play along with some minor removal.

For a longer drawn out multi-player game you might find yourself tutoring for Bitterblossom and Contamination rather than the above to lock the table while you work things out in your favor.

The quick and simple; draw power your way into utter Hatred.

If you don't win by turn five, you're doing it wrong. I've won as early at turn three.

Be sure to give this deck a like. +1 Upvote
