Getting ready for Lorwyn Eclipsed, and I'm looking for a {G}{W}{U} Merfolk commander. Chulane, Teller of Tales is a solid option for now, but maybe something better is in the pipeline.

This deck is designed around Deeproot Pilgrimage + Intruder Alarm, with Stonybrook Schoolmaster acting as a backup. This allows any tap effects to go infinite and create as many Merfolk tokens as you want. Payoffs include:

• Lullmage Mentor for a permanent counterspell

• Wanderwine Prophets for infinite turns when unblocked

• Cryptolith Rite for infinite mana, with Shapers of Nature and Chulane as the main mana sinks

• Opposition to lock down opponents' permanents

Outside of that, you can make all your Merfolk unblockable, protect them, and pump them up with lords like Master of the Pearl Trident and Sygg, River Guide. This deck's in Bracket 4 not because I think it's completely optimized, but because that's the bracket of land denial, fast combos, and chaining extra turns. It's a low 4 that can be fairly used against strong 3s. Still, it's versatile and synergistic on offense and defense, and the future is full of potential.
