Curse of Surveillance: Yeah, one of the scarier pieces of art so far. Get some gloves!

Spellrune Painter: Not really a fan of this design; feel that there's not enough of a payoff for managing the tension between one ability that rewards you for casting multiple spells and another that rewards you for not casting.

Stuffed Bear: Haha so goofy, I love it. Kinda wish it became a 2/2 with a 1 + 1 cost tho but whatever

Sigarda's Splendor: Meh, not the hero mono-white EDH is holding out for. You've all heard the criticism of Phyrexian Arena by now, and this is both more expensive and requires you to jump trough a hoop, all while making it harder to synergize life gain with life payment.

Lier, Disciple of the Drowned: Spells, period? Were they concerned with mindless counterspelling being too efficient for card advantage? Anyway, EDH-blue got unholy abominations like Resculpt available to it, so the lack of counterspells isn't as painful as it could be. Both Dralnu and Kess have been successful in EDH, but I can't say how much Lier trading extra colors for the ability to flashback more than will hurt him. Also, the flavor text foreshadowing more lovecraftian gods feels kinda redundant with Emrakul chilling in the moon, even if it's not new.

Moonsilver Key: oof, looks like Avacyn has gone and lost her head again

Vadrix, Astral Archmage: Obviously similar to Mizzix of the Izmagnus. Similarly to Spellrune Painter, I feel the actual day/night part is kinda incidental and self-deafeating. You can use power-boosting spells as rituals. Runechanter's Pike has found a home! Also, while I mean no offense, I feel like it was a mistake to include a bald black wizard-man with a black beard, white robes and a blue jacket in the same set as Teferi. (Yes, the latter has hair on his head but it's cut very short.)

Outland Liberator: That's more like it! The front is already rubbing shoulders with Thrashing Brontodon & Caustic Caterpillar, while the back gives pretty incredible repeatable value. (Also, is the flavor of the front that she gets eaten by the wolf?)

Ludevic: Yeah I always felt that the flavor justification for Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist being red was off, the guy's so unfettered... and it looks like he's gone completly off the rails here! Despite being an absolute clusterfuck, his backside has managed to avoided Horror-typing. (And yes, Olag seems to be him and not just a new creation.) Mechanically, I feel like he's mostly a The Mimeoplasm that traded green for more self-sufficiency. He might be more useful in the 99 as a self-miller that can eventually reanimate something.

Rem Karolus, Stalwart Slayer: Meh, feels like a rehash of Tajic, Legion's Edge or a cheaper Firesong and Sunspeaker. But sure, go ahead with e.g. Earthquake, Price of Progress, and Arcbond.

Katilda, Dawnhart Headwitch: You leave my poor furries alone, they've suffered enough! Anyway, People-elfball goooo

Thraben Exorcism: StopShot, this is probably the closest you'll get to that whiteVictim of Night throwback

Dauntless Avenger: Quite nice payoff for aristocrats decks

Morbid Opportunist: I like this design, making sure something dies each turn sounds pretty fun. No nontoken clause either!

Back to the legendary sub conversation I ran a deck in Dominaria standard (with guilds and such) that was basically all legendries: Legendary Soup. Once again no win/loss record recorded on Tappedout but I won so much with it at my LGS the deck has become...legendary. I un-privatized the deck so you can play through it but if not I'll give you a run down of what just accomplished in my playtest:

Turn 1 Stomping Ground

Turn 2 Sunpetal Grove , Emmara, Soul of the Accord

Turn 3 Clifftop Retreat , Tajic, Legion's Edge Combat mentor Emmara make a 1/1 hit for 6.

Turn 4 Sunpetal Grove , Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice Combat Aurelia trigger on Tajic mentor Emmara make a 1/1 hit for 10

Turn 5 Rootbound Crag , Trostani Discordant make 2 1/1's Combat Aurelia trigger on herself she mentors Tajic Tajic mentors a 1/1 Emmara makes a 1/1 hit for very much lethal.

Left with a land or 2 in hand, Lyra Dawnbringer , Deafening Clarion . Check it out it was really fun and worked surprisingly well.

Hello, I'm an amateur Boros player from Standard and Modern looking to build my first Commander deck and Winota looks like a great card to build around. I was wondering if you could advise me on whether or not the following cards would be good fits in a Winota deck: Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar , Sunhome Guildmage , Thalia, Guardian of Thraben , Thalia, Heretic Cathar , Silverblade Paladin , Hanweir Lancer , Frontline Medic , Bomber Corps , Tajic, Legion's Edge

There are some great cards to use with Tajic, Legion's Edge to prevent damage to your team. Some suggestions are;

The Wanderer: Prevents non-combat damage like Tajic and can be used to get rid of Olivia Voldaren at the same time.
Hedron-Field Purists: Prevents 1 of any damage at all to you or your creatures and levels up to prevent more.
Lashknife Barrier: Prevents 1 of any type of damage to your creatures. And cantrips when you play it so it doesn't slow down your game too much.
Ajani Steadfast: Can be used to buff weaker creatures, gets more counters onto The Wanderer and the emblem is very strong.
Homeward Path:This can get your creatures back when they get taken.

Hello all,

I am looking to improve the Ruthless Regiment deck, whose main commander is Jirina Koudro.

For the game plan: human tribal, mardu, aggro aggressive (creatures that can be launched quickly and evolve) and with some midrange effects.

I've already tried several games with Silvar, Devourer of the Free in command, but it didn't do me any more.

Where I'm having the most trouble is identifying which cards to remove and which to add to the counterpart.

My budget to start all these modifications is about $50 and i will make it evolve later.

I've identified a few cards that I like:

I would consider Tajic, Legion's Edge and Serra Ascendant and Metallic Mimic as options, though they are just ideas!

If you replace Solemn Simulacrum and Oath of Lieges with any cards with activated abilities, you could switch Zirda, the Dawnwaker with another legendary creature with an activated ability like Basandra, Battle Seraph, Brion Stoutarm, Razia, Boros Archangel, or Tajic, Legion's Edge, and just have Zirda as your companion. But Zirda will also be very vulnerable since you can't recast her from the command zone if she gets removed, but if you play Brion Stoutarm you could just sac her when she gets targeted, and just use one of the many white recursion spells to bring her back. If you so choose to lean into the Sunforger side of the deck though, you could easily play Kykar, Wind's Fury as the commander, and just run extra protection spells that you could pull out of the deck using Sunforger such as Eerie Interlude, and Razor Barrier, or counterspells like Render Silent and Hindering Light. I think I might build something like that soon!

jakeyuki12, so I made some changes based off of your observations. I removed the following cards: Aurelia's Fury, Auriok Steelshaper, Cenn's Tactician, Godsend, Response / Resurgence, Stoneforge Masterwork, Tajic, Legion's Edge.

And added: Darien, King of Kjeldor, Entrapment Maneuver, Precinct Captain, Elspeth Tirel, Nomads' Assembly. As well as Skullclamp and Winds of Abandon.

I want to preserve a few of those voltron equipments because my primary wincon has always been a 1-2 shot to opponents with commander damage. But I toned it down a little more. What do you think of the changes?
