Tajic, Legion's Edge Discussion

I'm thinking what would be fun in this deck is going with a fight theme. Load up with all the good fight cards and creature cards like Siegehorn Ceratops, Silverclad Ferocidons, Snapping Sailback,Spitemare, Boros Reckoner, Sporeweb Weaver.

From my understanding damage from fighting is not combat damage, so Tajic, Legion's Edge could be an interesting route to take. If your just using fight as removal.

Do you think Urabrask the Hidden Thalia, Heretic Cathar Loxodon Gatekeeper Blind Obedience type of effects would help? Makes it hard for opponents to pick whether to attack or block with the creatures they untap with ...and Windborn Muse Ghostly Prison effects help close the value gap because opponents have to stop progressing board in order to attack in the early game. I play Legion's Initiative Eerie Interlude Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero and Tajic, Legion's Edge and a lot of wipes so I can reset their boards while mine remains in tact.
Its tough getting outvalued. So many awesome cards that have no home in edh because boros gets no card draw or ramp. Heres my experience with aurelia- I finally get land to play my commander! and someone with a counterspell counters it. Cool. Now my turn ends and they begin their's. They draw 3 cards play 2 lands and drop a creature and leave 2 blue mana up and pass it back. Fughhhh

multimedia thank you for your suggestions! I'll definitely do the land swaps; I originally had Aria of Flame where Tajic, Legion's Edge was, I'll definitely try it in there, and probably swap the two again, I was just worried that it'd not do enough and give my enemies too much room to work with that extra 30 Life on the board. Does it tend to not end up being an issue? Again, thank you for your insight! And I love seeing a fellow budget deck builder!

Hey, nice budget version of Feather. Psychosis Crawler is an interesting finisher.

Cards a $1 or less to consider adding:

Aria is amazing with Feather when you can consistently cast three or four instants a turn which adds up verse counters quick. Instants that you can break up doing damage to Feather to trigger her and then do the rest of the damage to other creatures or other targets are very good with Feather. Fury was when Feather was released a $20 card now it's $1 thanks to less hype and a recent reprint.

Upgrades to consider:

Good luck with your deck.

Ok, so this is pretty sick, I really like amount of haymakers.

Some cards you might like are The Wanderer, Tajic, Legion's Edge and Loyal Unicorn. With these three, Blasphemous Act is a blast, and they would allow you to add at least some non-white creatures.

First of all I call this deck humans is because the most key cards to this deck are the humans, the knight tribal is just used to push it to be faster and add an extra level of protection to my creatures.

Everything mentioned I have tried in the deck has ended up being to slow, or simply didn't fit the aggro I was going for with this deck. Giant Killer was a hard cut but I ended up cutting it because I wanted the consistency in the main board, its in my side board for a reason. The skyknight helps with pushing in that extra bit of damage, I have won games with just skyknight and an Embercleave, I will admit it needs support to be good and it is the card I'm most iffy on but its proven useful in games for its evasion. General's Enforcer isn't very helpful in this deck, since I am only running Kudro as a legendary human and since I would only ever run Tajic, Legion's Edge in this deck along with Kudro it still doesn't quite get there. Boros Challenger is a great card that I wanted to run but since I wasn't sure where to fit it, I kind of just let it sit.

The land base is something that I wasn't sure what to do with for a long time so I just kept trying different things till I ended up with this; triomes are to slow for an aggro deck so I wouldn't run them (unless in a commander/4+ color deck). when I was running 12 shock lands I ended up just dying to them, so I cut down on them ever so slightly.

Note: I am aware of how winota works and I have a deck built around the card.

This is more of a knight tribal than a humans... If you want to lean more on the human side of things, go for General's Enforcer, Tajic, Legion's Edge Judith, the Scourge Diva and this kind of stuff. The Enforcer is low key one of the best cards of the deck. Giant Killer is also a great option to have some more removal and is just a decent card for the stats, quite easy to get it to be a 2/3 or even more with Tajic, it should be in the main deck ALWAYS, since this deck is really light on interaction. I really dont like Hero of the Nyxborn in this deck, it lacks synergy, if all you want is two humans for one body, there are way better options out there Skyknight Vanguard is cute and all, it can make you some wide boards (not probable tough, we all know it is removal bait) but even if it does, there is a HUGE problem with it. It doesnt create humans or knights, and a bunch of 1/1 just dont cut it in this format. If you are thinking about it for a Winnota combo, just dont. The token it creates does NOT trigger Winnota when it is created, because it doesnt techncally "attack" on that combat, it is created already attacking For the manabase... IMO just dont get fancy... 12 shock lands, a couple of triomes if you want and fill the rest with basics, this deck doesnt want to lose a single turn to tapped mana, SPECIALLY during the first 3, so I think that Passage is just a waste, and helps decks that want to use your grave for something (not common, but it is just a drawback). The Tournament Grounds lose a lot of value if you are not full on knights, so I cut them in my list Other two cards I would suggest you look into are Boros Challenger and Whisper Squad, they may look like not that much, but they are surprisingly helpful

Maybe Tajic, Legion's Edge as another protection option and a human?
