Why Anje Falkenrath?

Anje Falkenrath provides the ability to discard cards in return for a new draw, this synergises with the new Dragon's Approach allowing us to fetch our first dragon from the library at turn 5 most games.

Her second ability, the ability to untap when you discard a madness card, allows us to filter our library very efficiently, this in turn allows us to play fewer lands and less dragon's approach than we otherwise would.

On top of this she enables us to discard the dragons we draw, lending herself well to a reanimation theme

In short, Anje makes the dragons approach much better than any other commander!

You are mad!

You like filtering your deck

You like playing around with your graveyard

You like diverting from your playbook, when your draws gives you better options

Ramping mana

Knowing how your turns are going to play out before it starts

Primarily playing in your own turn

Since we aren't using infinite comboes, this list isn't gonna make it in a competetive environment, it will serve you well if you play in a slightly softer environment, maybe with a regular group.

This particular list is without Sol Ring Mana Crypt and the other high powered ramp artifacts, the list would naturally be more powerful with them.

The madness suite has been chosen based on it's playability, we've omitted all madness cards that we wouldn't play for their madness cost, as the madness cards
Any hand featuring less than 2 lands calls for a mulligan.

Any hand featuring less than a combined 3 madness or dragons approach cards calls for a mulligan.

Anje's card filtering makes us quite tolerant regarding poor hands, in so far as we believe we can acquire the mana to play her.

The playbook

Play land, pass turn
Play land, pass turn
Play land.
Play Anje, pass turn.

If nothing happens during the turn, whicch you need to respond to with a madness card trigger, discard a dragon's approach card at the end step before your turn. On turn 3, that's likely limited to Blazing Rootwalla

If you have no dragons approach, discard madness cards until you draw one.
Play land
Play Dragon's approach, pass turn

If nothing happens during the turn, whicch you need to respond to with a madness card trigger, discard a dragon's approach card at the end step before your turn. Feel free to also activate any <= 1 mana cost madness cast prior to discarding the dragon's approach.

If you have no dragons approach or land cards, discard madness cards until you draw one.

Play land
Discard a Dragon's approach with Anje to draw another card.
Play Dragon's approach
exile the 4 dragon's approach in the graveyard and the one you just played to find Skyline Despot

If you have no dragons approach or land cards, discard madness cards until you draw one.

This got you exiting turn 5 as the monarch, primed to generate a dragon token at the start of turn 6, aswell as drawing into a full hand on the draw step.

If there is a significant threat of you receiving combat damage before your next turn, it may be better to get Drakuseth, Maw of Flames Though in my experience, piloting this deck, there is rarely a situation on turn 5, where someone can attack into a dragon and still manage combat damage.

As the game progresses HP pools will drop lower and lower due to the repeated Dragon's Approach casts, aswell as the damage triggers from the variety of dragons and general interfighting.

The endgame will turn into a race, as our goal is to get people to 0 before their board state overwhelms us, though we do have a few lines where we can build overwhelming advantage on the board, including keeping hold on the monarch title and the Skyline Despot, which we can reanimate multiple times troughout the game, to reclaim the monarch title.

There is also Utvara Hellkite, which can generate a healthy amount of dragons, but our primary strategy is doing a slow burn that throws threats on the table.
