Life is a series of choices between bad and worse.

Essentially, the deck plays relatively passively. The goal of the deck is to have all of your opponents slowly losing health throughout the course of the game. The deck has quite a bit of enchantment/artifact/creature removal to keep you alive, because once your opponents see what you start playing, they'll most likely gang up on you.

With all the various tutor-methods in the deck, your primary goal should be to get Painful Quandary onto the table as quickly as possible. Use Praetor's Grasp to fish through the most dangerous opponent's deck and get his win-condition combo card... if you can play it, even better. Barring that, try to remove one of their enchantment/artifact destruction spells.

If you're managing your spells correctly, even if you lose early on, your opponents should all be pretty crippled throughout the rest of the game. So, if nothing else, no one gets their "flashy win". Usually the rest of the players limp along until someone dies to a Llanowar Elf.
