Neat list. Why Armed / Dangerous over Raking Claws maindeck? Is the +1/+1 that impactful compared to cycling?

I'd look at Fly + dungeons as a way to get a little more card advantage and ultility, alternatively Fire Giant's Fury in games that are drawing out. Arm with AEther is a cute trick.

If you want sources of direct damage, Five-Alarm Fire is a cheap lava axe though it prefers going wide, while Ongoing Investigation offers a way to stretch into midrange with an enchantment focus. Flamespeaker's Will is neat artifact removal for the sideboard.

Dueling Rapier offers a more efficient power boost than furor, although it doesn't do double duty as removal.

I really like your combos, this commander is on my list of future decks and your cardlist looks fun. I think you could trim at least three lands for some good cheap spells like Erdwal Illuminator and Ongoing Investigation

Isn't Ongoing Investigation illegal to play in this deck?

I must say I'm warming up to the idea of Shape Anew. Ongoing Investigation in particular seems like a strong addition and enabler. A shame that Shape is a sorcery though.

I'll try to brew different versions with Ongoing Investigation + Shape Anew and with Dramatic Entrance to see what sticks. Thank you for you help :)

Its definitely worth going to 6 payoff spells in some way - Entrance is a classic choice for that - I'd be swapping the gut shot as it is otherwise an almost completely dead card.

It does put more pressure on your mana base for green mana - right now your mana base can only sort of support the splash, but with more green cards coming mainboard you will need more ready access to it, especially with the double green cost. Filter lands or 1-off green mana generation should probably happen before the swap.

The big upside to shape anew is that it doesn't rely upon having a leviathan in hand, as it'll hit it anywhere in your deck, meaning it needs the same kind of 2 card setup.

Hard evidence might not be ideal, but I could see a package with some combination of Ongoing Investigation/Gilded Goose/Confront the Unknown/Lonis, Cryptozoologist putting in work. The two mana card draw is really useful even when its not being a payoff, as it lets you play more merfolk without losing reach to combo cards.

Ongoing investigation works pretty good just alongside the merfolk to keep the deck going.

I really like this thematic and I think you did a cool job building around it! :)

My first advice is that Estrid neither synergizes with your deck mechanically or, to my knowledge, thematically. Consider swapping her around and making Chulane your leader, since your deck seems to have more focus on ETB and card draw/land drops. Alternatively, Roon of the Hidden Realm seems like he would fit thematically and enhance your ETB effects.

Some more cards that seem like they'd fit your thematic and be useful: Timestream Navigator, Path of Discovery, Curious Obsession, Perilous Voyage, Chart a Course, Thaumatic Compass  Flip, Dowsing Dagger  Flip, Treasure Map  Flip, Ongoing Investigation, Trail of Evidence, Map the Wastes

Some win con ideas: Avenger of Zendikar flickers well and works great with all your landfall triggers, White Sun's Zenith, Blue Sun's Zenith, or Entreat the Angels all give you places to dump your mana, Rite of Replication can be used to similar effect on one of your bigger guys or to get more ETB, Laboratory Maniac or the WotS Jace could let you try to win by decking yourself out with all your draw/land digging. Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper and the various awaken cards from Zendikar could also work if you want to make your excess lands into beaters. Vigor would also be a strong win-con for your deck.

Hope this helps!

I love the idea of this deck but I don't see it doing much against other modern decks.

If you money to spare I would suggest: Noble Hierarch or/and Birds of Paradise and Collected Company

But if you want to do budget deck any 1 mana elf like Llanowar Elves or Elvish Mystic will do the job because you need that mana acceleration to crack your clues faster. Tamiyo, Field Researcher could be cool card and she is pretty cheap. Mana Leak or Metallic Rebuke or Remand because multiple Deprive will but you back in lands especially with out mana producing creatures. Dromoka's Command can be nice removal spell that can buffs your creature.

I would recommend pitching both Ongoing Investigation 1-2 Courser of Kruphix 0-2 Bygone Bishop all 3 Angelic Purge

Also for mana base in 3 colors I highly recommend getting some two color lands and real fetch lands for more reliable manabase. Temple Garden is now cheap thanks for wizard reprinting it and Hallowed Fountain and Breeding Pool are coming in next set so their price will go lower. Also Seachrome Coast and/or Razorverge Thicket if you want fast lands so you can get turn 1 white without pain. And if you have the money few Horizon Canopy are extremely powerful

For sideboard suggestions Dispell or Spell Pierce fast, cheap and effective Damping Sphere against tron and storm/other combo decks Knight of Autumn value creature that does it all, Rest in Peace, Worship, Settle the Wreckage or Supreme Verdict, Kitchen Finks, Celestial Purge, Blessed Alliance

I hope that this helps

You HAVE to play Mechanized Production, it's just TOO good in this deck.

Why not play new Saheeli? She's really good honestly.

Next, I know this is a tokens matters deck, but where are our blue staples? Rhystic Study, Leyline of Anticipation, and Counter Spells are vital to all blue decks! Also I get why you are playing it but Spell Swindle IS NOT a Mana Drain, just play the Mana Drain.

Ongoing Investigation isn't legal in this deck as it has a lone , making its color identity .

Lastly, Why is Heat Simmer in this deck? If you turn all your tokens into that token they will ALL be exiled. This would only really be good if you had additional combats... which is something worth looking into actually... Swing in the first combat with tokens, next combat turn them all into treasures or clues to respond on your opponents turn...

Overall the deck is looking good! Just a few tweaks and I think it'll be perfect.
