Commander / EDH* BG (Golgari)

NightyKnight09

Maybeboard

Gold (1)

The point of this deck is to shell out tons of mana early, use it to set up life gain artifacts, enchantments, and creatures, the throw in creatures that add trample, 1/1 counters, or that drain life. cards like paradise plume, dina soul steeper, gift of paradise, moldervine reclmation, and alhammarret's archive, just to name a few key cards. Then use the commander to buff up small creatures I wouldn't mind losing to keep opponents away from the creatures causing buffs. I usually play defensively until mana is consistently high and when I know life gain will be relatively consistent as well, then I dish out creatures like defiant bloodlord, blossoming bogbeast, ochre jelly, and orhan frostfang. This combined with the commanders effect and cards like unnatural growth, fortifying draught, and sanguine bond can often finish games or heavily disrupt the opponents. Some other quick notes, - Erebos is the perfect counter when facing other health gain decks, just be careful not to get it copied or stolen. -Paradise plume is a phenomenal card in this deck but when selecting the color just be sure to pay attention to how much of each color is getting used each rotation. Where green is the best default option, if multiple players are playing black it will most likely be worth it to choose that color instead. -This deck become the target of opponents very quickly if you move too fast. It's usually worth it to play slow then start making moves while another threat becomes the focus, or if possible move as quickly as possible to overwhelm the board before anything has a chance to get countered. -I really don't recommend using willoowdusk's ability right away. It let's opponents see how quickly creatures can grow in strength and if you do anything too soon you can risk it becoming the main focus of the board. -There are plenty of cards in the deck that cause opponents to lose life as you gain it. I recommend playing those for the most part early game. It isn't usually the most threatening thing to exist and it makes everyone use their removal cards on those to not risk them getting out of hand. by this point though, your opponents have done decent damage to each other and with what was drained it makes sweeping the board up very easy.
